I give it an 8. Actually I'd like to give it a 7.7, cuz they can improve (obviously) and 10's are a heavy thing to give out. I've had this cd since the day it came out. First I was totally excited to have new stuff from Reese and it was all I listened to, then I started listening to my FIF cd's and started (inevitably) to compare them and was kinda disappointed w/Roper, but in the last few weeks I've come around and realized that Roper is not "FIF Jr." and I started listening to them for what they are trying to be and found they're pretty darn good. The music is tight and upbeat with quality lyrics/vocals. Compare their debut album against other punk bands first albums and you's be hard pressed to find many better. I'm going to do all I can to catch them on the Supertones farewell tour.

It will be a sad day when Reese puts down the mic........

Awsome C-D, I like the one song "Amplify" :yep: I give it a 10

Yaya!!!! 10. I'm a bit biased, though (living in colorado and whatnot)

I was disappointed. I didn't think it showed much promise. I am a huge FIF fan but this did not grab me.

I give it a 7.5. I agree with the first person that they can get a lot better and i have seen it in there shows. i saw one in october then in february. They have matured more as a band and added new Cover songs.

Beside's this album wasn't even recorded with Nick White drumming and i can tell he has more talent then the drums on BYFTM. And Byrnside hasn't thrown in his own guitar and i believe he has the same if not more talent than Ethan Luck how created most the songs on BYFTM.

So like I said just wait for the new CD.

The more I listen to it, the more I like it.

Awsome c-d, Amplify is like my favorite song

I'm a big FIF and Brave Saint fan, but I wasn't really impressed by Roper. It seemed like all the songs are about the same things Reese has been singing about for a long time... not that that's bad, but I guess I was looking for something new.

The sound is alot like the Guerilla Rodeo sampler I bought at Winners Never Quit: The Farewell Tour.

Maybe if I listen to it more it will grow on me, but right now I'm not a huge fan.

I love this cd. Vendetta is so awesome.

The sound is a lot alike, because Reese wrote many of those songs for Guerilla Rodeo. When they went their separate ways, he took his songs with him.

I have not heard stuff like this in a while it is true pop punk techno stuff it rocks. I mean I have not heard something that breaks so far from the normal pop punk genre.

This is a great CD. Better than most similar stuff I've heard. Although a lot of the songs do sound similar, the outstanding songs "Hello Lamewads," "Amplify," "Quicksilver," and "In Excelsis Deo" more than redeem this album.

This is a pretty good CD. I like "Amplify" quite a bit.

I liked it for the lyrics. Lyrically, 'tis all right. Musically, it pretty much sucks. I gave it a 7.

I thought it was the other way around (especially when you know Roper has such writing talent).

I basically thought that both lyrics and music were mediocre.

a bit ironic eh?

Posted on 05-21-2005 by Art
Gosh, I did not even think of that. heh.

I honestly think the mediocrity came out of carrying material over from GR.

There are a couple of songs that I absolutely love on this disk now.

I've heard that there may be another Brave Saint Saturn, but I really don't know.

I have to give this one an 8.

Posted on 10-14-2005 by Muffinly
I think the title says it all.
5/10

Most definitely not Reese Roper at his best.

I think it's a 8.5 but I put 9. Only think I don't like is that the songs sound the same, some of them. Mostly just the guitar that sounds the same, may just be me. Very good debut cd. Keep it up Roper.

Posted on 10-31-2004 by JESOd
it's good, but it's punk. so yeah.. they tend to sound the same. Still good though, i'm just not a big punk fan.

Posted on 11-02-2004 by Skeeter
I like it. A lot. There's some good variety here, though the songs tend to blend together a little. There's enough variation to keep things interesting though. The lyrics are fantastic, as is to be expected from Reese Roper and the music matches well. It's not just FIF without horns as some people have said. The sound is full and complete: it doesn't feel like anything's missing.

Anyways, I gave it an 8. It's a great album, but Roper still has some maturing as a band to go through. I'm looking forward to what they do in the future.

Posted on 11-02-2004 by Ring of a bell
I agree with everything Skeeter just said.
Haha sorry...

It was a solid debut album, so I gave it a nine...

I am a huge FIF fan and love brave saint saturn. I was pleasently surprised. I woundered how reese would pull off another band with out having soundling exactly the same as the other two bands, but he did it. I gave the CD an 8 becasue like other reviews have said, some of the songs on the CD do sound pretty similar to each other. But the lyrics are great. I hope they keep up the good owrk.

Ehh, a 7. However, it is strange to hear Reese in a punk/powerpop band. It's growing on me.
