Awesome album! Everything I expected and more from these guys after the past couple years!

The only thing that really is missing from the CD is any real unique riffs, and the turntables that made Set it Off so utterly cool! (Gave it a 9 instead of a 10 because of that) It's a great album for just putting something on and just rockin' out.

The songs that really stand out to me are: Step to Me, Faith Love and Happiness, I Climb, New Design and Ordinary.

(Note: the tracklisting given above is NOT the real tracklisting. It is as follows:

Thank-x MJ for fixing that :D ...I was like "there are 2 more songs" lol! and yeah! lol!

this is a call does remind me of small town because it is about a depressed girl that he knows

Posted on 01-05-2004 by Jake the Snake
i love the whole cd other than the part when he says

I NEVER WOULD HAVE GUESSED

Posted on 01-06-2004 by Shaneathin86
yeah i hate it when he says that in "quicken" too that just doesn't seem to fit right... at all, but i don't really like that song anyways. i really think that the song "this is a call" sounds a lot like.. "innocent" by our lady peace.. if u've heard the song maybe u know what i'm talking about. but yeah i like the cd a lot... lotsa cool guitar. its not like hot riff guitar, but more like fast rhythm which is nice. great cd gave it an 8 cause i think 9 and 10's are given out way too easily, they should be reserved for things like collide by skillet  good cd

TFK rocks! I love this CD. Step To Me, Phenomenon, Faith Love and Happiness, Bounce, Rawkfist, Break The Silence, and Ordinary are my favorite songs (more than half the CD).

TFK ROCKS!!!! I love this album, i loved set it off too, the style is somewhat different, where Set it off had more variety and more of a hip hoppish tone, Phenomenon is more rock and not quite as much variety but still an awesome CD. This band is awesome, and i'm so happy that secular radio stations are finally starting to play their stuff, I gave this CD a 10 i listen to it all the time.

Posted on 01-24-2005 by RHOLMES
This is a great album to workout to. It gets you pumped up(emotionally which helps physically)! Unlike most secular music, it has a positive message behind the songs that wont leave you feeling guilty for listening to it when you done. Get this album!!! I cant wait until the new one comes out...

How? I liked the old garage rage esque elements of Set it Off a lot more.
Phenomenon is really good too, but for different reasons :)

Posted on 02-16-2005 by classicgtrfreak
i dont really like TFK... i mean... i dont really think they are mature... some of their lyrics "i need you just like a pill" that just doesnt sound... right i guess. its just not very good IMO...

when i saw them live they were terrible... of course they just came from creation west, not that that is an excuse.. they lacked energy and.. pazzaz.. i liked them just fine until i saw them live, and they sucked so bad i havent really been able to listen to them since then...

maybe they sucked so bad because they played right after Dizmas, who is the best band in the world with the coolest live show i have ever seen? who can compare with Dizmas?

Posted on 02-21-2005 by Symbiotic
pretty good...but after a while all the songs sound the same.....different style form Set it Off.....i saw these guys live and it rocked!!!....this cd gets an 8

Posted on 02-22-2010 by guitargurl101
I love TFK and I love the CD! It rocks! I like the song This Is A Call, but it do not like the part when they say, "If Your real then save me Jesus!" other than that small issue, they are awesome!!! :-)

Posted on 02-26-2007 by Gandralph
I like this cd alot. I think it was better that the art of breaking. They had a really cool style. I like some off the art of breaking but not as much. I listen to every song on this cd unlike many other cds. You should buy it.

Posted on 02-26-2007 by NotOfThisWorld
It could do without. "Rawkfist".

Posted on 02-26-2007 by Adam K
This cd is way better than their first.

Posted on 02-27-2007 by Sith of blades
I really like the CD. RawkFist wasn't all that, and the music video to it sucked. But, the music vid doesn't have anything to do with the album.

I really liked it, I wish they did a little more Rap Core like Set it Off, but, otherwise, it's pretty sweet.

Posted on 02-27-2007 by switchfootprson
I liked it. Rawkfist rawks!

Posted on 02-29-2004 by Jimvee
great cd gave it an 8 cause i think 9 and 10's are given out way too easily, they should be reserved for things like collide by skillet
Exactly. Everybody always rates cds way too highly and it makes the whole system kinda meaningless because all the cds are 9's. So be critical and don't be afraid too diss something.

Posted on 03-01-2004 by Jimvee
When I first got this cd, I was kinda disappointed. It lacked the variety of Set It Off and I was especially dissapointed because it seemed they had dropped their rap stuff, something I really dug on Set It Off. But I picked it up a few weeks later and was pleasantly surprised. It's a lot more mature than their first album and though there's little variety in the style of the songs there's lots unique and experimental riffs and junk. Such as: the weird voice he uses on the end of the last track, the irregular rythm on Quicken, the dual rapping in Rawkfist, the extremely fast rapping on the 11th track, and lots of awesome guitar riffs. But Set It Off is still the better album in my mind.

I LOVE this c-d, I always listen to it,

Recommended if you like rock

Posted on 03-26-2006 by Dani_Boy
Yeah, I love this cd!!! It's got variation, but not all that much variation. That doesn't really matter anyway, they're all good. I've listened to these songs SO many times, and I haven't gotten sick of it yet. (Maybe I never will)

I've never heard any "Set It Off" songs yet, but I totally love "The Art of Breaking". The use their second guitar much more and has these insane solos. Really catchy album, lots of variation.

"Phenomenon" has a more tight heavy sound compared to "Art of Breaking" and songs like Step To Me, Bounce, Phenomenon and New Design are really cool. Actually, they all just rocks!!! I love the quick rapping of Rawkfist and the deep lyrics and feelings attached to This Is A Call.

Love it! Give it an overall 8/10 I think.

ya....ok...well I say TFK in concert and they totally rocked!!! so I don't know what your talking about...and about the whole dizmas thing...o ya...they're the best in the world...yet...somehow....I've never even heard of them...so anyways...I gave this cd a 10 and I totally loved it..I agree that the lyrics aren't always don't always sound right...but it's still a great cd.

i agree. the cd is good the only part that drives me crazy is when Trevor sings

I never would have guessed

Posted on 05-07-2004 by BereanatHeart
I gave it a 7.

I've heard "rawkfist" on the radio so much I finally decided to get the cd. It's heavier than what I usually listen to, but it's a good cd. I would probably given it a higher rating, but I've only listened to it about one time through.

Posted on 05-08-2004 by Brendini
TDK has created an excellent work of art that Christian rock fans are sure to devour. The opening song, Phenomenon, is probably the best song on the CD and talks about Christians getting out of the closet and showing their faith. Step To Me, another great song, deals with the devil and temptation. The only slow song on the album, This Is A Call, makes up with powerfuly lyrics what it lacks in tempo. The rest of the songs, especially Rawkfist, don't really fit my taste, but these guys are very talented- no doubt about that. One other song I like is Quicken. The verses are really wierd, but the chorus is awesome and makes up for the verses and then some.

My rating: 8/10- I'm not into a lot of the songs on their CD, but for people who like that kind of stuff this album would definetely be a 10.
My verdict: TDK is a very talented band. I wish they would be a little more overt with the Christian themes of their songs, but those themes are there if you listen hard enough. If you like their kind of music, buy the album- you won't be disappointed,

Posted on 05-10-2004 by Jimvee
It's TFK, not TDK.

Posted on 05-15-2010 by Darkhyperchaos
I give it between 8 and 9. Great CD! Almost all the songs are at least good, if not great. Rawkfist seems to be overrated, but it certainly isn't a bad song. I still think it's one of the best Christian rock albums ever!

"phenomenon" is phenomonal!! this cd was my first taste of christian rock and it got me hooked. pure vocals, insane drums, and awesome guitars, this album has them all.

TFK kicked some major butt in concert. Trevor is craaaazzy! he's nonstop. playing FM static and TFK in the same concert. almost back to back! They put on a great show and are one of my favorite bands. this is a good album. I really have nothing much to say about it. I like how they matured since the album Set it Off. The lyrics show it.

this is a good hard rock cd with good vocals, above average writing, and strongly features guitars. i gave it an 8. i'd say go get it, but get the latest from kutless, audioa, switchfoot, relient k, and fallingup first. key tracks: break the silence, rawkfist, this is a call.

My favorite TFK CD. Everything about it is just amazing. Top songs are "This Is A Call," "Faith Love And Happiness," "Phenomenon."

This cd is awesome!! My personal favorite is "New Design" altho itz not a hard song itz still awesome. I think they should make a music video from it. If they can't make one... I surely have one for them!!

Fologod, if you were wanting "The Art of Breaking" to be put on here so we could review it, you would go here.

http://www.christianguitar.org/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=332

You would set up a new thread and put why you want this CD reviewed. Eventually, a mod would set up this CD to be reviewed.

oh ya, for sure eh?

Posted on 07-26-2005 by Caldur
I honestly think that this is the greatest overall CD that I have ever listened to. Every track is just so awesome. I don't ever have to skip past a song because I don't like it. Instead, I always have it playing because I love all of the songs. :D

I've probably listened to the CD about 150 - 200 times. WMP shows me at about 55, but this is a new computer. That's not counting any time that I've had it in my stereo or in my old computer (or in this computer before I formatted it the last time =P). Not one of the songs have gotten old to me.

"Last Words" is probably on my top 5 songs of all time. Maybe, maybe not, it's hard to tell. Too many different genres that I like. It's my favorite song on the CD.

This CD simply blows me away.

Posted on 07-27-2005 by SSj Guitarist
It sure does..I agree with you man, I learned how to play every song on the cd, because I love them all so much. It's great, I mastered all the songs, unfortunatley, my band is lazy and only has learned like less than half the cd. Which kinda ticks me off, seeing as they haven't tried to learn or write anything new in like 6 months.....I need a new band, lol.

So, I guess that's outta the question.

Just out of curiosity, how did you learn to play all the songs? Only eight of the songs are tabbed on this place, so do you have an alternate place for tabs? Or are you just awesome like that?

I agree w/ the guy who said that "This is a Call" reminded him of FM Static....when I first heard the intro I though it sounded like '"Crazy Mary".....I also thought "I Climb" sounds like the "I dream of Jenie" themesong....the other day I was talking online to some guy who was claming to be the drummer....I don't know if he really is..but if he is that would be really cool.

Posted on 08-05-2004 by shavedmarmosets
man, what a great cd. i love how it combines rock with a little rap in it like rawkfist (which is the best song), and how they also changed it up in this is a call by going slow. very catchy and the singer, trevor mcnevan, adds a lot to the powerful guitar and bass lines with his singing style

I climb 9/10 nice ending

Holy crap, screw christianbooks.com for their track lists....Yeah, the one above is correct. At least, that's how it is on my CD.

Anyways, this CD is....phenomenal.

It's much much more mature sounding than Set It Off, IMO. Comparing it to Set It Off doesn't really do this album justice, as it is completely different.

True. I just prefered the variety of Set it Off marginally to Phenomenon.

Posted on 10-17-2003 by Jonular
Set It Off definitely has more variety than Phenomenon.

On the other hand, Thousand Foot grounds itself into this hard rock sound on Phenomenon that no other Christian artist has yet to venture into.

Both are good things, it just depends on which one you like more.

BTW, for anyone considering buying Phenomenon and has only listened to the two songs on MP3.com, I'd say that the whole album is better than Phenomenon and Rawkfist. Step to Me, Last Words, and Break the Silence are all better songs, IMO.

Awesome Cd! With the exception of Rawkfist, I love every song on here. Is it just me, or does This Is A Call remind anyone else of Small Town (i think thats the name)? The whole album rawks. buy it.

Posted on 11-28-2003 by Relient_Kev
TFK's new cd is absolutely fabulous. Each song has its own significant meaning (Except for rawkfist and bounce tho, =P). Phenomenon is like...Christians letting everyone know they're Christians. Step to Me...one of my personal faves...deals with Satan and him trying to tempt us, and during the chorus, is singing about how much we depend on God to help us run away from Satan's temptation. Last words...lol I'm not entirely sure of the meaning yet =P. This is a Call REALLY reminds me of FM static...heh. Pretty much about how much we need God in our lives when we realise that our lives aren't complete without Him. Rawkfist....hahah wow so random! Faith, Love and Happiness....another fave. This song sounds very angry lol...to me it sounds like he's saying everyone's a sinner, and that he want everyone to look into His eyes, and just wanting faith love and happiness. I climb...i really dont know this one either lol. Quicken is a very good one. Catchy, and is about God being in control of everything. New design. Cool intro on that one lol. Asks ourselves a question...are we really who He wants us to be? and so we change ourselves to be a new design, to be Christ centred. Bounce is about how "TFK rocks the partay" =P. The last two i didnt listen to very much...but anyways, TFK, great CD, keep up the good work, trust in Him! <><
