I think this is an awesome CD, although i don't think i can say it is their best one yet, i have to say i liked "The Anatomy of Tongue in Cheek" better, but i'll talk about that in the other forum. So yeah, i really like this album and Relient K is an awesome band. Mood Rings is a great song, so true too, haha.

Posted on 01-25-2004 by ChozenChick
It's a great CD... I wish there'd been more Christian songs in there tho. Moodrings, I am Understood?, Getting into You, and Falling Out are awesome songs ("Getting into You" is extrememly easy to play on acoustic). I think Anatomy of the Tongue in Cheek is still the better album by Relient K, tho.

Ouch. Do most people think that Two Lefts isn't a heavily Christianity influenced CD and that Relient K has only released two CDs?

I wish they'd write more songs like Jefferson Aeroplane.

I'm not a fan of RK either, but at least back your statement up rather than giving an uneducated "RK stinks".

Posted on 02-26-2005 by Timberwolf
I gave it a 10. I really like the hidden track on this one.

Relient K is one of my favorite bands but i wasn't real thrilled with this CD i mean the songs that were good were really good, but the songs that weren't good just weren't good. but MmmHmm got 'em back up to the top of my list

relient k's my favorite too. i happen to like two lefts...but i can agree MmmHmm is way better!!! they're pratically all i listen too. has anyone seen them in concert?

Posted on 03-08-2004 by Britishgrl4evr
Def. the best relient k cd so far. it is the only cd by them(maybe that i own) that i can listen to without skipping a song. My fave song is a tie between getting into you and i am understood

Posted on 03-08-2006 by fallinguprawks
The music itself isn't as good as the Anatomy, but it's still good music. Anyone who likes Relient K needs to get this CD. It's kind of the transition from the Anatomy days to the present MMHMM feel, musically and vocally. Matt's vocals sound slightly more trained than on the Anatomy, but not as much as they were on MMHMM/A Pathetic EP.

I'm sorry to all you crazios, but this cd was severely AWESOME and that's all I have to say.
this cd totally rocks...altho the messages in songs were less clear than tongue in cheek, once you've listened to the words a few times, it's like, "wow, this is so great!" my absolute fav is "i am understood", but "forward motion", "chapstick..", and of course silly shoes :) you have to get this one....:cowboy: "mood rings" is sad but sadly true...hilarious.
How can it be your "fav" i mean in love withthe 80's

The new cd is really good, some songs I need to listen to a few more time before I really like them, but I LOVE mood rings, falling out, forward motion, getting into you, gibberish. The only disapointing thing is the enhanced cd episodes. on 2 computers I tried it and it wouldn't work, and it was all choppy on another, I hope other people had more luck than I did. Their last cd would be hard to top, but this one might have done it!

Dissapointingly average. I was expecting more out of Relient K. Instead I end up with a CD full of filler material with a couple decent songs strewn here and there. Compared to their self-titled and Anatomy of the Tongue-in-Cheek, this album cannot compare. Yes, they're more talented now, but they didn't turn this talent into quality songs. 6. Only the couple decent songs like "Mood Ring" and "College Kids" save this from being a 5 or below.

Posted on 03-27-2003 by John53
PEPERONI.......This is thier best cd to date. Some songs still take a few listens to get into but overall the cd is a 10. Theyre one of the more talented bands in CCM today and thiessen is one the best songwriters that i know of. Still there does seem to be a lets not talk as much about God anymore on their album but theyre some songs that make up for some of that. The best songs are definetly I am Understood, Chapped lips, Overthinking, and Falling Out.

Posted on 03-27-2003 by OneWithTheMud
It's alright... just more typical Relient K stuff. I think Anatomy of the Tongue and Cheek was better.

Posted on 03-27-2004 by BereanatHeart
I think some of their songs are funny, clever, and mediorce. I definetly don't think they are all that great musically. This cd is my second favorite of theirs. AOATIC is my favorite.

Supercool sassy rockin cd :)
I can hear how they are growing as a band. It's as good as Anatomy, maybe better. I really like Mood Ring, the Eighties, and College Kids. Really good punk. If you like RK, NFG, etc. def. worth a listen.

Posted on 04-03-2006 by thyfunkispure
I enjoy this CD a little bit better than there other stuff, Forward Motion is my favorite song

Posted on 04-04-2003 by punker15
dissapointed... i love the music but they water down the lyrics so much there is nothing left to chew on. it's about time christian bands started singing about god again! not about mood rings and wearing pink tuxes to a prom!!!

don't get me wrong. it's a great cd. but if i non christian listened to it they most likely wouldn't even know it was christian.

anatomy of tongue in cheek will forever be my favorite.

two lefts don't make a right but three do is perfect for any punk fan. They resemble good charlotte, blink 182, and new found glory on several different tracks. The best songs are "in love with the 80's" and "Mood Rings"

Posted on 04-04-2004 by Mr.Zachcore
i gave it a one. Just to spite all of you who gave it a ten. hahahaha. I honestly don't think it's a one but still, come on, a ten?

In case you have not noticed, most of the votes on this site are 10's. It's not a big deal.

Posted on 04-06-2004 by Mr.Zachcore
yeah I knew that. I just think 10s should be saved for really good albums. oh well it really doesn't matter.

Posted on 04-07-2003 by Skeeter
I've figured out why I don't like it: no lyrical hooks. There's only a few songs that have a decent lyrical hook: Mood Ring, Gibberish, and College Kids. Those are also some of the more pointless songs on the CD. Their first two albums are chock full of lyrical hooks, but they dropped the ball on this one. Still enjoyable I guess, but nowhere near as good as they used to be.

Posted on 04-11-2004 by Handsome
i agree. i am understood? is one of their best for relating to me...

Posted on 04-12-2003 by rkcoolguy
dude i think that this cd was their best one yet.....i have to admit that some of their songs were slower than the ones on the other albums, but the songs were still cool with cool lyrics and they were still funny .....i think that rk is pretty cool and that they should keep up the cool stuff

God bless u all

this cd is mediocre. no good lyrical hooks and it seems that the band was almost afraid to mention God on this cd. also the song arrangments were terrrible. sounds like they just threw together a bunch of b sides and a couple of quick recordings. they also have a new drummer i liked the old one. matt thiesen is a much better songwriter than this album suggests i think the band shouldve took more time to write this album. you dont have to put out a record every year. man i hate bashing rk i love em but this cd stinks. the first two records are awesome, classics in my book but i hope we can all forget about this one. im looking forward to their next record in a couple of years. ill be seeing them in atlanta ga in june i know its gonna rock.

i don't think they were afraid to mention God, i think it's just that matt wrote more goofy songs and it just kinda happened that way. i think its cool that they made a mostly fun album. some of the goofy songs have "meaning", or whatever you'd say, to them. They had Dave Douglas as the drummer for their last album too, so he's not really all that new to this rK biz. I think he's pretty awesome. i take that back, he's more than awesome or great, he's fantabulous! ok, welll, just more opinions from me...

I love this CD! Its amazing.... 10 all the way! I love the songs mood ring, and forward motion. I have listened to this CD a least 50 times, since i bought it (last month), and i cant really find anything bad to say about it, besides the fact that the songs get stuck in your head, but afterall that may not be such a bad thing. I do want to say though i think the songs are more fun and a little less, "Godly" but i love the CD and the Guys anyway!

Dude, I have to say I don't agree with u. I think the mixes and arrangments are awesome on the CD. The songs are alot deeper than I think u realize. All the parts blend together to make an awesome cushion that just envelopes u. And also, the lyrics are awesome on this album. They are so catchy, and I think M@T's colors as a songwriter really shine here.

I really think you should take a bit more time to look at all the songs in depth lyrically and musically, and you will see how amazing this album is, and I betcha you'd be hard pressed to find a punk band that is better talented.

What's sad is RK is shying away from their punk side and trying new stuff. I would like them to go back to the style of music they used on Anatomy, or switch to emo songs like I am understood.
That doesn't keep their CD from being a 10 though, there are a few things I would change if I were their producers, but overall there are few things that could beat that CD.

Posted on 05-26-2006 by Mortified
This is my second fav. album. I really like "College Kids" and "Getting into You" (which thanks to rkfan4 I can now play) and "Forward Motion"

Posted on 06-02-2003 by acoustic_set
i got this cd yesterday and I've already played it 2 death. its a great album but just doesn't seem to have any tracks that really jump out like on Anatomy.
Saying that, I love mood rings, gibberish and college kids - typical relient silliness!! I think that my favourite track so far is Getting Into You cuz the words are so true and more like the stuff on Anatomy.
Its a good 1 but Anatomy of Tongue in Cheek will always be the bestest best cd these guys did! :)

check out the free EP, its pretty cool 2! And all thats left 2 say is...thorphilliate stinded yilla billa zay wentora yate paravillintiniay!!!!

LOVE THE SILLY SHOES!!

Posted on 06-03-2003 by acoustic_set
me again!

ok, the reason no particular song jumped out is cuz they are all really gd!! the style has really changed since Anatomy but i don't think its a worse cd for it. its one of those albums u gotta listen 2 a few times and it grows on you!

thanks for ur time
peace and love

hi there!
i like this cd alot too but my fav cd is their self titled. i wish RK would do more emo songs like SOFTER TO ME. yep. :) do u like emo, acoustic_set?
well, my fav song on this cd is IN LOVE WITH THE EIGHTIES! yep. ;)
~GG~

Posted on 06-03-2003 by acoustic_set
i'm pretty into emo, not 2 much screaming and stuff 4 me though!! I think that relient K can pull it off well but they r defo. a punk band thru and thru.

I don't have the first album, so 'Anatomy' is my fave! :) Still, the nu 1 is gd, i like the way they are trying out new stuff, the emo influence is nice but i don't want them 2 lose their relient k funny punkiness!

Posted on 06-08-2003 by punker15
for those of you who downloaded my band playing getting into you... i'm sorry it sounded so bad. i have redone the whole thing and now it sounds great.

Posted on 06-22-2003 by lizwrenne
definately their best cd yet. they have matured a lot since their previous two cds and i was not disappointed by this album. i bought it the day it came out and did not regret it.

the songs are catchy and clever. they can also be sarcastic and ironic. but hey, it's relient k. what would you expect?

my fav songs:
forward motion (a clever takeoff on bouncing off the walls by sugarcult :thumbsdn: yucky group)
trademark (great guitar lines)
end to end (just a good feeling to it)
jefferson aero plane (catchy tune, easy to sing to)

Posted on 06-25-2003 by amberpj
First, let me just say Relient K. is my favorite band, I've been to a couple of their concerts, and both were a blast. I really like their new CD, but I must say that spiritually, Anatomy beats this one. Musically, this is the best yet, but spiritually, for right now, Anatomy would have to be my favorite. Not saying I don't like the CD or anything, I have most of the songs memorized, but yeah, that's what I have to say.

Posted on 06-29-2006 by Relient Kenny
Well, I love the album. My mom hates Relient K for some reason, but I love the cd. I only skip one song, but that's only if I feel like listening to something a little faster. That's Getting Into You. Other than that, I like Getting Into You. Chapstick, Chapped Lips, And Things Like Chemistry is definitely one of my favorites. I'd say to get the cd. True that it might not be like... heavilly influenced Christian Rock, but the message is definitely in there. I love Relient K's music because it's so true, often random, and just... I dunno, fun. And it's fun to play along on the guitar.

Posted on 06-30-2006 by heisouronlyhope
Great cd one of my favs.

Posted on 07-02-2003 by The Dried Zulu
Yeah, this is my favorite band. Relient k rocks. I am a super RK fan. Yup.
This album is great. They did some new stuff that they haven't done before, more minor keys, a little slower/mellower. Maybe they were running out of ideas and were looking for something new. i don't know...

Posted on 07-10-2003 by God's Jedi
I was rather disappointed. This wasn't nearly as good as Tongue and Cheek. Chapped Lips Chap Stick and Things Like Chemistry, Mood Rings, In Love With the 80s, and a couple others were excellent songs, but as a whole, the CD was just not up to par with their last one. Nothing on here was as fun to sing along with as Sadie Hawkins Dance, and none of them reached out and grabbed me like For the Moments I Feel Faint.

Posted on 07-11-2003 by UofMfan
none of them reached out and grabbed me like For the Moments I Feel Faint.
Why not buy "MMHMM"?

Posted on 07-20-2004 by Unregisted
i've gotta get this off my chest. i love relient k dearly and not only found your comments out of line but hurtful. lets take a step back and stop analysing their every move. they're 4 guys who love God but also have lives and i have no problem if thiesen wants to take time to sing about how his relationship with matt hoopes' little sister didn't work out (its true matt told me) then he has my approval. This cd is real to me, christian bands shouldn't have to be only for christian people and i think the k boys are onto something. dave i think your drumming is awesome and even though you're not new seeing as you were also on anatomy of the tongue in cheek you have my full support buddy. lets keep these reviews real people, some of them are starting to sound exactly like you need to listen to 'down in flames' again and stop bagging other christians music out.

I must say I haven't listened to MMHMM or Apathetic EP much, but if Relient K has been writing better lyrics, its definitely a big step in the right direction.

Posted on 07-22-2003 by SupaNova
This is probably Relient K's most creative album to date. Some people have complained that they don't talk about God enough (they only metion his name twice on the whole disc), but there are Christian values mentioned throughout most of the lyrics( "In Love with the 80's" and "Gibberish" being some of the obvious exceptions) and simply show the cleverness of Thiessen's writing. The band, musically, continues to arrange clever melodies and the instruments feel very tight and flow well together. My only complaint is that the vocal harmonies aren't as...well...vocal as in their last record and the bassist doesn't have the "kick" he use to either. In conclusion, if you're an avid RK fan or are just looking for some good pop/punk rock, you should definately check out this CD.

they say what most people don't know how to, in general. They are awesomely talented, and YES they should keep up the good work.

i found that this new cd is a great cd to have for your collection of relient k cds. this is probibly my favorite of all the christian artists. i do have to say though that they have been a little unclear about god as in their other cds, but even though i do believe that they have gotten their message across. i love the songs falling out, forward motion (except the fact that the verses sound like stupid shugercult) , i am understood?, and getting into you. the lirics are amazing and you can deff. see the love they have for God. and of course they are able to put those songs that are fun to listen to; mood rings, in love with the 80s, and collage kids. you can deff. see their talent excell in their last few cds. so i deff. recomend this cd to any christian who loves the sound of punk music.

p.s. could someone please tell me what the whole "chapstick chaplips and things like chemisty is all about?

Go to the Relient K forum. THere's a whole thread about it. :)

Posted on 07-28-2004 by Unregisted
this cd is great i think its the best one. sure there are only a few songs that mentions God, but not all of our conversations include the word God, Jesus, Savior.

Thanx

Posted on 07-29-2004 by bmcneal
I give this album  .

Posted on 07-30-2004 by Epaphras
I gave it a "1" because I only like one song on it..."I Am Understood"

IMHO, they should go for that hardcore-punk sound more than the stupid pop crap they've put out lately. More songs like "Softer to Me" please!!!

Posted on 08-01-2003 by SallySue
Great CD. I really love all of these songs! Relient K is awesome.

Posted on 08-06-2003 by Megatron
I LOVE this CD. I think they have matured a lot since their last album. I love both of them. (the anatomy a little bit more, but I think it's just because I almost killed Two Lefts by listening to it so much, and I just purchased The Anatomy...). I Am Understood has REALLY touched me. I most definitely give Two Lefts Don't Make a Right...But Three Do a NUMBA TEN!! :D :D :D :D

I love this CD. The first song I heard from relientK was Pressing On on a music video. From then on it was my favorite band. Two Lefts comes clos to Tounge in Cheek. I think Saidie Hawkins Dance and Getting into you are my faves. I can play getting into you on my guitar!

 I like this one. Possibly more than MMHMM... I thought it was kinda negative when I first bought it, but ( from what I heard ) it's really about his struggles in his relationships with people. But I love songs like "Forward Motion" and "College Kids". Just make you sure you DO go to college.

I love this cd! Well, actually, I love all of them. But I love this cd more. I got it after I had 'Mmhmm' for about 1/4 of a year before I bought this one and then like half a year before that I got 'The Anatomy'. I give this one a ten because I can't skip a single song on this cd. I MAYBE skip one occasionally on 'Mmhmm', but 'Anatomy' is like a 9.998. I love the songs 'I Am Understood?', 'Falling Out', 'College Kids', 'Jefferson Aeroplane'- dude, ok, the whole cd! This is the CD that really made me obsessed. (more.)

ROCK ON! I got like my big brother to like them and he is twenty-one...lol, and he doesn't like exactly the best bands ever

Posted on 09-30-2005 by lumpycustard
I gave it an eight. Not the best CD ever, but still worth the monkey. RK is awesome. Best song would have to be pink tux to the prom... :runs to keyboard to play piano part:

Posted on 09-30-2005 by Debussie
Well, I rated it a nine, because I pretty much like every other song on this cd. If I had to rate it over the other cd's, I would say I like this one best. Of course, this was my first RK cd, so I think people like the first one they get best of an artist. Usually that's how it is for me.

This is my favorite RK cd, but I think I rather liked it when they dumped all the goofy songs. It helps you take them more seriously as a band, and that's something that they wanted to do. No one can deny that they are pretty much one of the catchiest bands on earth.

Posted on 11-02-2003 by Unregisted
RELIENT K is the best band ever! ( secular and christian) They rock so hard in concert and on they're cd's. This is THE best one they have. Which is really hard to say since all of their cd's are awesome. They're all geniuses. Its amazing. I like every song. They dont know how to make a bad song. They'd have to take a class on "How to make a bad song". And they'd fail. You know why, cause theyre awesome!

I gave them a 4. i like "trade mark move" alot along with "i am understood", but those are the 2 best songs on the cd by far (strongly in my opinion).

They have alot of potential, but their lyrics come in slightly lacking (for most of the songs).

Take "getting into you" for example; they sing "i'm getting into you because i've got to be, your escential to survive"

what would be alot cooler is "i'm getting into you, becuase i've came to see, your my escential to survive"

just a bunch of stuff like that. The other half of their songs are about girls an such...

Posted on 11-23-2004 by Javen
"pressing on" is the song of the martyrs... i can just imagine them looking towards Christ as they were lead out to be tortured an slaughtered. As stephen preached for Christ all the way till they dragged him out to smash his face in... you can imagine a fuzzy feeling inside similar to the words in those songs.

Alot of them knew fanatic living for Christ would due them, but they caught a glimpse of the Lord's plan an nothing going back would ever be enough.

I gave it a 6 because its good but not great. now the new record that they released, Mhhmmm is pretty good. I would give it a 9.

So I'm in Ponderosa with my wife and whole family a couple of Sundays ago, and this guy comes in with this really nice all-white suit. My wife looks at me and says "pink tux to the prom". "In love w/the 80's..." is definitely one of our favorites and that phrase "I am gonna wear, a pink tux to the prom" is in our heads all the time. Don't get me wrong, it was a nice suit. Guess you had to be there (not Ponderosa, the 80's).

I love that CD. My favorite track is jefferson airoplane.

Posted on 12-28-2006 by +SEAL+
This is probably RK's best piece of work. Mood Rings, College Kids, Gibberish...all very fun songs. I think RK really lost something when they dumped the fun songs for the most part. Plus the wordplay on this album is great.

And of course...who could forget...PEPPERONI!!!:D
