Awww the good record. My friend visited Squint prior to this CDs release and was able to get a prerelease of the album. At the time it came out Grammartrain had just broken up. Now I love and loved grammartrain. When I first heard Chevelle I loved them because I thought they sounded like Grammartrain if Grammartrain had formed 5 years later.
This album is so cool. The songs are so raw and emotional. You can easily hear the Tool and Helmet influences. What I love about this album is that the production is perfect for these songs. Steve Albini really did a good job with this one, as he always does. Their second CD is good but the production sucks all the life out of the songs. Of course, those songs aren't nearly as raw as these songs. That is much more of a radio record. Another impressive thing about this record is that it did make it to the radio and MTV. Its rare that albums this raw hit the radio. It certainly doesn't have the wall of sound like their second record.

This album is absolutely incredible... the new album wonder what's next is awesome too I don't want to be to repetitive of the guy above ^ but personally I enjoy this one more. The best songs on the CD in my opinion are Dos, Blank Earth, Peer, and Mia but every single song on the CD is incredible! BUY IT! :kyep:Posted on 03-25-2003 by Underhill
