it wasn't like it hurt my ears but did they ever go down hill from "Son i loved you at you're darkest". i just feel they could of done a way better job it wasn't to catchy. like its one of those cds you buy and listen to once or twice then put it away at the bottom of you cd rack
I think you have to take into consideration that this band was over.
They were done.
The brother of the lead singer (and background vocalist) decided to keep the band going, so the vocals are going to be different, this guy can't do the screaming that his brother did.

I was disappointed when I first got the album because of the lack of. . . Force. However, this is an album that has grown on me immensely. Yes it's a new sound for the band, but it does have it's catchy tunes. You just gotta let them grow on you a bit. And you need to understand that with a different front man, the sound of the music is gonna change.

If you were a fan of songs like "The Widow" from ...at your darkest, then you will love this album.

Wow, up until a week ago, I hated this album. But i've realized that that was mostly because of the huge change and that I am a huge fan of their debut.
But i've learned that I have to look at this album as a whole new band, there is really no similarity from what they were to what they are.
I think they could have gotten away with a change of name.

About a week ago I dug this out from the bottom of my box and through it in the player. I finally discovered what this album is. It's amazing! It's really slow and drawn out, but I really love it, guitar work is awesome, the music is original and mesmerizing and you can feel the passion and sorrow in the vocals.
The song Timothy is probably the saddest song i've heard, partly because the album is dedicated to the memory of Timothy Jordon, which sounds like a good friend of the singer or something.
I can't stop listening to this now, beautiful music and lyrics.
