Haste the Day - Pressure the Hinges

The new guy Steven Keech is awesome. Some may argue that they sound like any other hardcore act out there, but I think they are awesome. This cd gets a 10 from me. "Pressure the Hinges" has some freakin' awesome breakdowns. The choruses sound pretty much the same( as each other, and like the ones from [I]When Everything Falls[/I]).

Btw, Steven has a pretty good singing voice too, as proved on "Stitches".

Great cd. I love it, however I still think their first album Burning Bridges is the best. The new guy is awesome though.

NO!!!! I like Stephen better than Jimmy. Jimmy's scream was nasty sounding. Granted they do sing a lot more but its still AWESOME! They have a nice mix of screaming and singing. I like Stephen on tour screaming the older songs more. I would like to have seen PTH be more like WEF but its still awesome. I give it an 8.

They sang on every song on [I]When Everything Falls[/I] (except on "Bleed Alone").

It depends on if you like Jimmy's scream over most other hardcore acts. Steven's scream is a isn't a low-low scream, but it gets there.

I got it 2 days ago. I like Stephen's scream more. I couldn't understand a dang thing Jimmy said. This cd is pretty good. It didn't blow my socks off. But the breakdowns did. Haste the day are officially breakdown professionals. I like pretty much all of the breakdowns. Especially the ones in "Pressure the hinges" and "Needles". Meesa gonna have to say.....8.

While I can't relate to a guitarist's perspective on this one, I must say...their drummer is a SURGEON. That guy has some mad skillz. But sometimes I question his comparitively excessive use of the ride and double time tempo. The ride used in conjuntion with metal and/or hardore to keep tempo just bothers me for some reason. For accents, it's cool. Far-less' drummer uses the ride to spice things up all the time in songs, but he never uses it for tempo in a hard song. But that's just my thing. It just...grinds at my soul. Not really.

Burning Bridges was pretty decent but When Everything Falls was sooooooooooooo garbage. I havent heard their new album as of yet but hopefully it goes back to their roots.

I usually can't stand the ones that last for many seconds. For me in hardcore i guess it gets old after a while which is one of the reasons i don't like long breakdowns.

I'm really digging the breakdown on "The Oracle", like 1:15 seconds into the song. It freakin' kicks a**.

Yes, there's quite a bit of singing, but it's an awesome CD.. I've listened to it tons the past 5 days. (^_^)

Those are the only songs I've heard so far, but I will probably agree. I much prefer the growling to screechy screaming.

Nobody can replace Jimmy. His voice is the sound of Haste The Day. Stephen is good but he doesn't have the epic quality of Jimmy.

I always found Jimmy way too high pitched and annoying. This album is simply amazing. I love every song.

I agree that Jimmy was more unique than most hardcore acts, but the scream was a little annoying.

This is my first Haste The Day cd so I don't know anything about the other guy but this cd is awesome! I wasn't sure if I would like it cause I don't like alot of screaming but this cd gets a 10!

I miss Jimmy, you can't go replace him. He was Haste The Day to me, thats what I think of, the vocals, when I think of their signature sound.

It sounded like he was had water in his throat as he screamed. I loved it, I still havn't go this album, I don't think i will unless i here some songs off it that are awesome.
