Message of the Cross

This is a pretty cool song and I’m positive It’s right. This
is the way my Youth Group plays it.

Verse1:

G csus2 G
This is the message of the cross that we can be free
Csus2 G
To live in the victory and turn from our sin
Am7 csus2 G
My precious Lord Jesus with sinners you died
Am7 Csus2 D G
For there you revealed your love and laid down your life

Chorus:
D G
You set me free when I came to the cross
D G
Poured out your love for I was broken and lost
D Em7
There I was healed and you covered my sin
csus2 D G
It’s there You saved me...This is the message of the cross

G Csus2 G
This is the message of the cross that we can be free
Csus2 G
To lay down all our burdens here at the foot of the tree
Am7 Csus2 G
The cross was the shame of the word but the Glory of God
Am7 Csus2 D G
For Jesus You conquered our sin and You gave us new life.

I like to play the chorus in 3-note patterns. Play D on the
words ”free when I” and after cross play the G twice more on
quarter-note beats. Thats just my personal preference.
