Blues Turnaround Licks In The Key Of E7
(By Tyson)
Hey, how about some blues turnaround licks? You'll love these. So let's dive into the lesson. This first lick is fairly simple. On the B7 chord do a downstroke then an upstroke and then another downstroke. For the x's do a right handed percussive mute, let it hit hard enough to make a thumping sound.

e |----0-------0-----0-------2-2-2-x-0~~~-x-| B |-----3-------2-----1------0-0-0-x-3~~~-x-| G |--------------------------2-2-2-x-1~~~-x-| D |--------------------------1-1-1-x-0~~~-x-| A |--2-------2-----2-------2-2-2-2-x-2~~~-x-| E |-0-------0-----0-------0----------0~~~-x-
Here's something slightly familiar. If you recognize the beginning of it, it's from the James Bond theme song. You should be able to use my alternate ending or make up your own.
|
B |-0-1-1-2-2-3-3-4-4-5-----------------------| G |-------------------------------------------| D |-------------------------------------------| A |---------------------2-p-0-----------------| E |--------------------------3-p-0-3-b----p-0-
This next one is easier if you fingerpick it with the E7 chord shape going up the fretboard. On the chords strum down, up, down, up, pop the mute and then strum down on the E chord.
