Funk
(By Tyson)
Funk is primarily influenced by blues, (seventh chords) so we'll start out with all the seventh chords. Yes, there are many ways to do each chord, but I'll only list the most practical voicings. There are basically five dominate seventh chord shapes. There is the open E shape (020130), the open A shape (x02020), the open B shape (x21202), the open open D shape (xx0212) and the open G shape (320001). You can bar those to create the right chords for you're key, but I'll list them all in their most practical voicings.

Mess around with those with allot of abrupt right hand muting and all you're friends will go "wow you're the bomb!" :) I'll give you a little funky solo to play and the backing chords for it so you can jam with a friend. Enjoy.
