| So today was an interesting day... Alright. Wow. What a day. Haha.
First, I had to go to the College Of Music office today at my university because there was a sign saying that they needed to see me. I was expecting it to be something bad (i.e. "oops, you missed a prerequisite, you have to drop one of the classes you're currently taking, which means you can't graduate on time"), but I was quite serendipitiously wrong. The head dean called me into his personal office and proceeded to tell me that I had been voted by the faculty to receive the Pressman award next year, which is awarded to the most oustanding senior in the College. It carries a $3,500 - $4,000 stipend!
Also, last week in our university student newspaper, there was a picture on the front cover of a bunch of gay people dressed up for an Easter parade, with a caption that read something like "An Alternative Easter Celebration: Hundreds of gays line the streets to celebrate Easter in their own special way." Needless to say, I was quite disturbed by it. I wrote the following to our editor, and it was published in today's issue of the newspaper:
"I was appalled by the front cover of last week's Maroon. Tolerance is one thing, but blasphemy is another. Easter Sunday is a time for celebration of the resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and his victory over sin. It is not now, nor will it ever be, a time for celebration of the sin that he came to deliver us from. Shame on you for parading homosexuality in conjunction with your celebration of the Easter holiday (that's holy day, for those who never took etymology)."
I was rather pleasantly surprised to see that it got published. I wonder if I'm going to get dirty looks around campus, though.
Anyway... that's all. I just had to share with somebody.
In His love,
Nate

| Wow. Sweetness on the award. And good for you for writing in to your paper. It should be worth the dirty looks.

| That, friends, is the key to success.
That and french toast. Everyone needs to start their day with a good healthy piece of french toast. I highly recommend it.
