Did something just happen?

i have been trying to access CGR all morning, and I would always get a "Page Cannot Be Displayed" error. Was it just me?

After bothering Mickey at work with email about this. He pointed me to a thread that explained that CGR's host had problems again.

This is anoher good reason to donate to CGR to help get new servers. See my sig below.

How do we know he didnt do that on purpose so that we would be begging to offer money to him?

Here's the thread on webhostingtalk that explains it. It's over 1000 replies in just a few hours. A LOT of sites were affected:

Wow, it seems like something horrible happened at theplanet....I read through some of those posts, but I never got the gist of what actually happened. Did anyone ever tell the public what happened?

I didn't have time to go through hundreds of posts, but all I really got from it was that The Planet was having problems. Mickey, do you know the specific reason why it happened?

And big problems, but not an explosion or a fire. As far as I read, the people answering the phones weren't giving out any more information (if they knew any).

Yea, people were suggesting power failures and all kinds of things. But I think someone mentioned that if there was power failure, the backup generators would have kicked in by then. It could have been a bandwidth problem or anything.

I'm not making any claims or excuses, but from what I read it was a double failure on The Planet's behalf. Something about overloading the UPS in there somewhere...
