Guitar Mags?

I was just wondering if any of you would recommend a particular guitar magazine or are subscribed to one right now. They seem like they might be good for some new content each month or whatever, but I really don't know....

Do you?

The search function can work wonders. Oh...Wait... you're new here. Sorry if that sounded mean or sarcastic. But yeah, the search function does work wonders.

You're so mean.

Yeah, I'm used to forums (I mod at some), but I don't use the search function very often. Sorry about that.

But, opinions and publication quality can change too.

I subscribe to guitar world and guitar one. There's a lot of stuff in there I more or less pass over, but there's a ton information and practical nuggets of wisdom and tips and practice stuff to cull out of them. Plus, unless you only play "christian" music, they usually have a bunch of great songs to learn

I get Guitar Player and Guitar One, and they usually have a good variety of lessons, interviews, etc. between them. Guitar One is great cuz they have lots of song tabs and lessons for all sorts of players. Guitar Player has a decent amount of tabs and lessons, but I really like their interviews with lots of different bands, and they have better pictures and stuff and they review more gear and in greater depth than G1.

My thing is, I'm still a big noob, so I want one that's not going to be way over my head, but I also don't want to be able to just blow through everything in a short amount of time.

Do the magazines cater to all levels?

Right now I buy Guitar Player at the newsstands. I think that it has a lot more to offer when it comes to lessons and such than Guitar World/Guitar One(They're basically the same magazine).

I wouldn't want a subscription to most of them. I'd much rather just pick up the ones that have something I'm interested in reading or learning.

I think I paid $12 for my subscription to guitar one, they're like 5.99 or somthing in the store. Why not just get the subscription delivered to you?

I guess you could say I'm well rounded. I like nearly everything besides death metal/goth music/whatever you want to call it.

Try here to subscribe. There are a lot of charts and helpful advice from very good Christian artists. On top of that, Bruce Adolph has a heart for the Christian musician.

I subscribe to Guitar One. I like it. I buy Guitar World off the stands ALOT. They are both really good... especially Guitar One, it comes with a cd! That's a handy feature!
