| Cool, that you like Theocracy!
You may also check out the band Revelation Project - they'll release their debut soon and judging from the samples on their homepage they seem to be very good: www.revelationproject.com
Don't miss the sample "Glory" - this instrumental rocks!
Then there is the band Darkwater which contains members of the christian powermetal band Harmony ( www.harmonymetal.net). I have heard that Darkwater's debut album will not have overtly christian lyrics, though the album is called "Calling the Earth to Witness". Well, we'll see...
Listen to the sample they have online at www.darkwater.se - it sounds very promising to me.
Fabio Rocha's Shining Star is another christian prog metal project, but I can't find their homepage anymore They will release a new album soon with Lance King (Balance of Power, Pyramaze) on vocals.
Another interesting band is Rivera/Bomma who will release their second album soon. You can listen to samples at their homepage at http://www.silentplanetpromotions.com/riverabomma |

| As much as I credit myself for being knowledgable of metal...I still haven't a clue what progressive metal is. Is it similar to power metal? |

| I guess you could call it "Thinking Man's Metal". The lyrics are usually deep or highly technical (think Neal Peart's writing for RUSH), and the song often changes time signatures and key, with a lot of shifts between syncopated to regular rhythm, random bridges, long intros, multiple levels of melody, etc.
I freakin' love the stuff. |

| Listen to Rush, they are a fine example of the prog metal genre... |

| Extol!!
Especially their last two records (blueprint dives, and synergy)
if you like heavy death/black/prog metal check out their first wo.
Synergy is more fast thrash /prog metal.
Their new onje (blueprint ) is more just prog |

| Well, Synergy is by far their worst album, to tell you the truth, and I don't much care for it, but it is highly technical.
All Extol albums are VERY different, so listen to some samples of their other CD's, because you might like them. Especially, if you don't like heavy stuff, listen to their new one |
