the SAT is set up to measure aptitude, that is, ability and potential, not "smart" or "not smart".

it doesn't measure if you have good or bad grades. if you're a 'C' student who scores a 1470 and a $2000 scholarship that'll probably be all the money you get for college. The student getting A's, if they apply for scholarships is going to win far more of them than the 'C' student.

Got a 1070 in 7th grade, 1140 in 8th grade, and a 1330 in 9th grade... On the old test I probably would have been up to the high 14s to low 15s...

Math is my strong suit, but my english is by no means weak... It's gotten a lot better though, just by learning a lot of grammar this year. 1330 was a 710 math/620 verbal split. I'm sure I'll do fine on the new essay...

I'm shooting for the 2250-2400 range by graduation though...

Going to a camp in Boston this summer put on by Princeton Review that is basically just heavy SAT prep. I'm also going to visit a lot of colleges...

But that's all besides the point I guess.

www.collegeconfidential.com has some great discussion on their forums about SAT prep and what not...

Anyone take the May 5th administration of the SAT? I did... I thought I did fairly well... and by that I mean really good. I'm excited to see what I get on Monday...

I'm definately shooting for a 2400 by this time next year. High aspirations... oh well, we'll see what happens.

Not as good as I had hoped for...

Math 720
Critical Reading 700
Writing 650
Multiple Choice 60 (score range: 20-80)
Essay 11

Man that sucks, my essay was pretty darn good, but I missed 20 of the MC questions. That could have been a lot better.

Math should be higher too. Oh well.

Crammin' on some grammer over the summer.
