| Knowing God So, I was just thinking the other day about the idea of knowing God and how much we can know Him and I thought of an analogy.
Here it is:
In grade 10 science, I learned the basic formula for cellular respiration; glucose + oxygen --> carbon dioxide + energy. In grade 11, I learned that that process actually had three steps; glycolysis, Kreb's Cycle and Electron Transport Chain. Everything I learned in grade 10 was still true, but in grade 11 I learned that the truth went deeper. In grade 12, I learned that the truth went deeper still and there were about 20 steps contained within each of those three steps. In my first year university bio class I learned that those steps had steps which had steps. So, the stuff I learned in grade 10 was still true but it went so much deeper and to do anything with the truth that I learned in grade 10 I have to go deeper still.
I think that with God we must seek to know Him more and more and I don't think that we will ever come to an end. Unlike cellular respiration where we will eventually hit an end, with God we will never hit an end though we may search for all eternity.
Anyways, I just thought that I would share that analogy. Have a good day. |
