The singer in the movie, and on the soundtrack don't sound the same. The lyrics are modified quite a bit from the original, and several stanzas are missing.

Yeah, Leonard Cohen wrote the song. Buckley's version is far superior, though. Better than Wainwright's, as well.

Jeff Buckley did a cover of Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" on "Grace". Rufus Wainwright also did a cover, which was on the Shrek soundtrack.

Coldplay's new album X&Y is very good, I also just got their DVD so I've been listening to a few of the songs on the CD included with it. I've been listening to some Starflyer 59 and Depeche Mode too.
