Circleslide Receives IMA Award as Top Contemporary Christian Band

Centricity Records' renowned rock group Circleslide was recently named the No. 1 Contemporary Christian Band at the Music Resource Group's 4th annual Independent Music Awards (MRG, IMA).

Focused on developing new markets for independent artists and labels, the MRG bestowed the honor based solely on artistic merit, as judged by a panel of established artists and industry professionals.

In addition to being featured in the 2005 edition of Musicians Atlas, MRG's annual directory connecting all areas of music business, Circleslide's "Home" will be included on a Summer CD compilation of winners from each category. The "IMA Winners CD" will be distributed to music journalists, commercial and public radio stations and industry insiders. Boston-based promotion company, The Planetary Group, will service the IMA Winners CD to college radio stations throughout North America.

Circleslide will additionally receive increased exposure as the IMA Winners CD will be distributed by three-time IMA co-sponsor, Borders Books & Music. This spring, the retailer will enhance its IMA efforts by promoting the IMA compilation and sponsoring a variety of in-store events in the chain's top-ranked music sales markets. IMA winning artist albums will also be available in stores and on the BordersStores.com site.

Circleslide is currently in the studio completing its national debut, Uncommon Days, releasing later this spring. The album will further highlight "Home" and three more songs from its acclaimed EP release, Connectology, which garnered interest from several labels before the band signed with independent label, Centricity.

For more information on Circleslide and to sample its award winning song, "Home," visit www.circleslide.net, www.centricityrecords.com or http://www.disclogic.com/musicresourcegroup.jsp.

Circleslide first hit the industry spotlight at the Gospel Music Association's annual Music in the Rockies event in Estes Park, Colorado where they placed No. 1 in the "Contemporary Christian Band" category in the 2003 national competition. Playing more than 200 dates per year throughout the U.S., Circleslide's compelling live performances earned a slot on 2004's ShoutFest Tour with Rachael Lampa, TAIT, Petra, ZOEgirl, Jump5 and others. In addition to weekend concerts at churches, the band books performances throughout the week at bars and clubs. Circleslide utilizes these venues as an outreach by inviting patrons to hear them perform at local churches and on occasion have had the pastors attend the club and bar shows.
