People taking advantage of me

One of my good friends and I are both turning 30 this year and a month apart from each other. we agreed to nuy each other something a liitle special. I was thinking of spending maybe in the $100-$150.00 range. Well my friend called me last night and said she saw a $350.00 bracelet and wants me to get it for her. She claims she spent the same amount on me. But she is diabled and says she does not get that much in disability and after car payments and expenses has nothing left. I dont understand where this money came from to buy this and if I should telll her no. If I tell her I'm not getting her the bracelet she will be ticked at me. i dont know what to do.

How about finding something comparable that's more in your price range. Is it really a gift if you don't feel good about giving it? Wouldn't that then make it an obligation? I don't know, just thinking out loud.

When someone tells me that they want me to buy something, in a fashion that you described this person telling you, I wouldn't buy them anything. They are greedy little people, and don't deserve you to waste your money on. How about you donate some money in their name to a charity.

It does sound like your friend wants to use yur feelings for her to get a nice bracelet. If you really want to and can readily afford to spend it--go ahead. If you can't afford it find a comaprable substitute in the price range you decided. If they are a friend they should understand and be grateful. If not--well then it wa sa small price to pay to find thatr out as well.
