Have you used an electribe for worship?

Yeah, it sounds crazy, but I was thinking about getting one and using it ina worship set. I just wanted to see if anyone else has used these, esp for a worship team.

Aren't they mostly geared toward D.J.s and Rap/Dance type music? I don't know that the sounds would be usable in all situations. It would be neat to incorperate that style into typical worship music, though.

HAHA!!! It sounds more than crazy!!! It sounds absurd!! Ridiculous!!! Insane!!!!

Ok, now that the initial shock of the idea has been dealt with.. I'll move on. I agree with LWatford, I think it would be neat. I wouldn't overdo it though.... most churches wouldn't be to happy if you just busted into a phat beat right in the middle of worship!! Seriously though.... they're not that expensive (when compared to some of the other grooveboxes out there, like the MPC2000).... so I'd go ahead and try it!! Just be prepared to learn.... if you've never dealt with a groovebox/drum machine before... it could get frustrating!

It would work best if you just suprise them around the 115th verse of a hymn!

Smile Thanks for having fun at my expense

I know is sounds crazy, so I'd have to spend hours at a store to see if it would work, but there are things about it that I think could be good. Who knows... it could blow harder than a hurricane, but if it did work it would be interesting on a few songs. Thanks for your comments... Yeah, I'm laughing at the idea myself.

Yes it would. I've actually heard quite a few songs that used drum loops. Most of them sounded like an Electribe could've probably got the job done. A couple of my fav's are:

Come, Now Is The Time To Worship
The Heart Of Worship
The Noise We Make
Be Glorified
America

Anyway... there's a few suggestions to get you started.
