I know, I've moved and gotten a new job. I hadn't been playing as much, but I'm back into again. My band is putting material together, and we will be doing that for the next 6 months at least.

Man, every good bassist uses his finger. It sounds cleaner and you are more versatile with your finger(s).

I used to just use my fingers, but I'm a freak when it comes to the tone I get in different songs, and also in different parts of songs. That is why I use both.

I use fingers only. I personally didn't like the feel of using a pick (with BASS), and I didn't care much for the sound either. It's personal preference.

Thumb.. lol I made the mistake of learning to play using my thumb instead of finger picking.

I like it better than using a pick because of the speed and control. Also I think the sound is better.

i use mainly my fingers, but for some songs that i play i use a pick (example Third Day Melody) fingers do give more versitiliy, and picks give a little better sound...i think
