Giants (RC)

This song is a little bit of me lashing out at never having been one of the "in crowd" but not as much as I'd like to, really, it's mostly me trying to find something positive, outside of giving the aforementioned in crowd their just deserts.

Giants

When for the first time you looked into a pool,
And saw by your reflection that you aren’t beautiful,
And when all pretty little children chase us away,
When they say we’re trolls and can’t play their games,

Know that one day:

We will soar higher than eagles,
We will run farther than miles,
We will sing sweeter than angels,
And be lovelier than the flowers’ own child;
When we are giants

When for the first time I truly heard them laugh,
Because my legs were weak and I could not run fast,
And then I knew I was less than all of my friends,
But I know there is still One who will make amends,

And on His day:

We will soar higher than eagles,
We will run farther than miles,
We will sing sweeter than angels,
And be lovelier than the flowers’ own child;
When we are giants

We are of the earth and this clay makes our faces,
We are of the earth and this clay wins our short races,
But in all our clay hearts He puts a soul so we love,
The fast flame in our torches and the starry sky above,

And on His day:

We will soar higher than eagles,
We will run farther than miles,
We will sing sweeter than angels,
And be lovelier than the flowers’ own child;
When we are giants

He is the morning we will run to,
With our ugly faces upturned to the One,
Who will set us free from the earth we are glued to,
Our ugly hands supplicate him and he gives us his son

I know exactly where you are coming from, and you're intent on staying postive about the subject is admirable

Good intro, seems very poetic.

Normally, I wouldn't really like incrediblely positive anthems like this, but you word these lines so the imagery doesn't seem cliche. Just ending with "we are giants" sounds kind of abstract, but it works.

Unfortunately, I can't say the same for this verse. The imagery just isn't as strong as in earlier parts of the song, but this verse isn't bad by any means.

I'm a bit torn here, the last two lines are great but the first two leave are weaker in comparision.

Cool way to end the song, even if the spiritual applications seem to almost come out of nowhere. I really the 2nd line in particular.

Crap, I hope I don't sound too curt because you it's a pretty good song. I think it's all of the optimisim...if you haven't figured it out by now, I'm a rather calloused guy
Keep up the great writing man!
