| What are your favorite books? Either your favorite book ever, or favorite books within the various genres, or even top 5, or whatever....
Here are mine: Fantasy: Lord of the Rings Sci-Fi: Either Dune (the first 3) or The Space Trilogy (by C.S. Lewis) Non-Fiction: Several, including The Jesus I Never Knew (Yancy), The Road Less Traveled (M. Scott Peck), The Pleasures of God (John Piper - though I'm not sure I agree with everything, but a very challenging book nonetheless), and Celebration of Discipline (Richard Foster) Cookbook: Appetite (Nigel Slater) or Splendid Soups (James Petersen) Comedy: the first three Hitchiker's guide books
If I had to pick one of these, it would be Lord of the Rings. |

| Probably Traitor by Matthew Stover or the New Rebellion by Kristine Kathryn Rusch. Those are Star Wars books, and all of them are really good.

| The Wind In The Wheat by Reed Arvin. It's about a musician with an incredible gift from God for music who ends up in Nashville with a recording contract, lots of fans and a disappearing relationship with God. The book talks about his fall from grace and return. Highly recommended. It reminds me every time I read it that the true servants of the kingdom are those whose names we don't know, who simply serve in their church as God has commanded them to. So many times when we start getting proficient in our instruments, singing or whatever, we think that if we just make it big, God can use us in incredible ways. Unfortunately we then fail to see that God can use us in little ways as well.
Anyway, it's a great book.

| Thanks for the recommendation! Sounds like something I may enjoy.
And of course, God can use us in big ways in small places. In fact, since God's ultimate purpose in everything He does is His glory, does he ever really use us in small ways? |

| my fav author at the min is john grisham. ive read 12 of his books so far and im still looking for the 3 im missing (i think its 3 anyway). im getting the hang of all that legal jargon!! (the films are good too but i prefer the books) frank peretti is an excellent author and ive loads of his books. mostly fiction, but theyre intertwined with spiritual things and they really do make a good read. makes you think... ive just finished reading left behind by tim lahaye and jerry b jenkins . wow! what a read. really makes you wonder whats going to happen when jesus returns... ive already ordered the 2nd book in the series and intend to read them all. ive read wait for me by rebecca st james . very, very good book. i feel kinda guilty reading it. sounds bad i know, but it is very good. im reading danielle steel books at the min now too. theyre ok, and they pass the day at work, but theyre all the same: romance and falling in love and soooooo predictable its starting to get annoying.....
