Im kind of anti-conformist. Internally I can't like something that lots of people my age think is fantastic. I used to like RK back in their Self titled and "Anatomy of the Tongue in Cheek" days. I heard them at the bumper-cars at Disneyland. I don't like them anymore.
Its not that Switchfoot sucks that I don't like them. They do. But its more that everyone else wears switchfoot shirts to school.
I don't intentionally do it, I just can't like the most popular bands. Thats maybe why I hate rap. (No Rap really sucks) But I just cant like a band if everyone else in my school does. | You really need to listen to Handbook for the Sellout by Five Iron Frenzy

Does it have to do with the canadian accent?
Or something about anti-conformity?
Or is it about how much Switchfoot and rap suck?
Or does it have to do with Disneyland or bumpercars?
Maybe its just a good song...?

| Several reasons:
A: It's an awesome song.
B: It applies directly to what you just posted.
C: Reese Roper is a really cool name.
Secret option D: Bill told you to. |

| I give it a 7. From Underneath is really cheesy. The first three songs are good, skip over four, listen to five and six, seven is worthless so skip, I expected Take Me to be much better because I had friends that think it's amazing, and I don't like it. Someone Else Before is just dumb. The rest of the CD is good. Letters to the President (song) is amazing! I listened to that song 20 times in one day one time, and I'm still not tired of it (talking to you "Hello")! I'd almost buy this CD just for California, Things, Every Little Thing, Letters, and Long and Lonely Road, though. |

| this is an awesome cd. i prefer "smile it's the end of the world" but only because i like harder rock. the only disappointment i have with this cd is the bass part on some of the songs. if you listen to the bass part on "the one thing i have left" you will agree that HN could have done better. when i learned how to play the bass line for "california" i got bored with it after a week. |

| Listened to this again, and reaffirmed my opinion. The music is mediocre at best, the vocals are tolerable and typical for the genre and the lyrics are quite often horrible.
Two of the 3 solos are simply the vocal parts equivalent on guitar, and the third would best be described by a vulgar Australian slang word.

When you call anything with harsh vocals "screamo", it makes as much sense as calling anything with distorted guitar "heavy metal". |

| Sucky. Mediocre. Immature. Yeah. I don't hate it, some of the songs are kinda catchy. But it's not very good. 4.

This negatively affected my tone in ways that I just can't describe.
Then, on a whim, a few years ago I wandered into a Bath and Body Works store at a local mall and picked up some of their gentle foaming anti-bacterial hand cleansers.
The difference in my guitar's sound is so wickedly improved that I no longer feel the need to buy a new amp or pedals or even strings...EVER!
So, it's my belief that tone is in the soap.
Thank you and goodnight. | |
