contemporary music

hey, I have been playing classical all my life and I want to move onto contemporary christian music. I have found chords hard for me to learn. I was wondering if anybody has any advise or is willing to help me out with this transition.

first off, what are you using to learn chords...i've seen books at music shops that have actual pictures of where the chords are, what they're called, where your hand should go, inversions...i play totally by chord and it helped me a lot to use a book like that.

Something i've noticed about contemporary music is it's all about simplicity...most of the keys players i listen to don't hit a LOT of notes, but they make the ones they DO hit count

It's good that you already know classical, that leads me to believe you've got a good working knowledge already of what things should sound like, listening is the biggest part of this.

i know most of that was rambling and i hope some part of it helped..

Wow, your bro is Goldenchild? That's cool.

Well, I can give you some advice, I hope. I am also in the midst of learning to play the piano on top of playing guitar and bass for three years.

Practice, Practice, Practice. That's the best advice I can give you.
