When you copyright the song just put "words from the bible w/new music" in the description area.
Paul encourages us to sing his Word "...making melody in your heart in songs, and hymns, and spiritual songs".
Personally I think that musical styles are only a vehicle for the Word of God. Many times I have asked God what style of music fit a particular passage of scripture. One time in particular I was thinking on Psalm 51, I started singing it to a Latin rhythm. It fit because the style of music conveys the message of the words, and that's very important.
As for Player4God's original query, take a scripture that ministers to you, that you've read or studied and ask God to give you a tune for it. Ask God what style best fits the passage (don't limit yourself to what you know), as well as tempo, etc... and he will guide you. Believe me I speak from experience.
