The Requisite Minimum One Poem from a Poet Laureate About Poetical Art and its Artists per Season or Publication.

We should feed our poets more, I think for
pessimistic, nihilistic verse about ravens and madness
about death's, God's, the universe's black hearses
is ineffectual beyond the scope of the writer's mind

It's written by adolescents for the purposes of individual development
It's perfectly natural and acceptable but it does little to edify society
And so we who have devoted our lives to contemplation agree
We need more money.
