btw, How might I ask him that?

Something like this...

Dear Kurt,

I'm planning of making a fairly large purchase from you, but I'm a bit strectched for money and I was wondering if you would be able to help me out a bit. I'm looking to buy *insert products here*. I was hoping to see if you could cut me a deal on the shipping price, or if you could include a strap, picks, and a chord or any combination of these. I've heard great references to you guys so I hope you can help me out.

thanks
*insert name here*

Something along those lines should work.

Only make sure you say *cord* and not "chord"....or else he might put a note in the box that says "C = X32010" or something smart like that. heh Sorry, I just see people spelling it "chord" too often when it's a cord. Cord is what you plug in, chord is a series of notes played together to form a pleasing musical sound.

Yeah, I was thinking that was a strange spelling... Btw beav, where would I put that message, in the order instructions? The store is in NJ, and I'm in NY, so shipping should be fast..

If I remember correctly, you are going to buy

right?

Because if so, I'd say Gig bag - your case would cost half the price of your bass, lol.

But then again, I got the gig bag because of the $40 difference and well, I've got a case I could swap with if worst came to worst and I needed to carry it in hardshell.

I don't exactly get your point about the prices of the bass and case... I'd wanna protect my bass as much as possible..
