| The Battle of Fools (RC) I was the only one
to bring a weapon
to the battle of fools.
A knife for carving beef
Pre-stained with blood
From my job as a cook.
I was thought a hero
but I only found
it in my veneer pouch.
I felled the largest fool
like he was born of
the men of Anak.
My people hunted his
like a multitude
of recovering Jews.
I was carried onward
to Jerusalem
upon the Levite rods.
I took concubines to
my quarters and had
more than my fill of fame.
My sons and my daughters
were thirty apiece
upon thirty asses.
My weapon was placed in
the tabernacle
for the priests to worship.
I fashioned animals
of untarnished gold
and let them bless my meals.
They were my only fault
for they left me and
I died of starvation.
