Michael Tait Contributes to Waterfront Records' Bridges

Waterfront Records announces today that 2005 GRAMMY-nominated TAIT frontman, Michael Tait completed his recording of the world-renowned hymn, "How Great Thou Art," for the Bridges: Classic Hymns, Modern Worship recording which releases Feb. 1. The song will also be the first radio single serviced from the project this January.

"Nothing stirs my heart more than the classic hymns of our faith and 'How Great Thou Art' is one of my favorites," says Tait." I've sung this song all my life, but this new arrangement will make these classic lyrics exciting to a new generation."

"I am truly blown away by the way 'How Great Thou Art sounds.' Tait's voice fit perfectly in with the song and I walked away blessed and moved by the whole experience," adds Bridges' executive producer, Marc Byrd (God of Wonders, City On A Hill).

Hugh Robertson, founder of Waterfront Records, notes, "Responding to a need voiced by church music ministers and worship leaders for music that bridges the foundational theology of our greatest hymns with a modern musical approach, we put together some of today's most popular modern worship artists to create a new resource for the church."

Promotions Director Linda Meyers states, "Bridges masterfully makes that connection by taking the most loved hymns of faith and giving them a new voice by using the sounds of today's worship. Featuring the vocals of artists and worship leaders, these classic hymns will resonate with listeners as they are drawn to the throne of Grace by crossing the bridge that connects the comfort of the past with the passion of today."

With production by Andrew Thompson, Bridges features 12 timeless hymns recreated in contemporary style. In addition to Michael Tait, the recording features such acclaimed artists as Todd Agnew, Paul Colman, Ginny Owens, Jason Ingram and GlassByrd. The full track listing follows:
