Fistful of Dollars

I just finished watching this movie (which I picked up on DVD at WalMart for about 5 bucks). It was excellent, but it was also obvious that it, "Last Man Standing," and (or so I hear) "Yojimbo" all share the same plot.

Anyone else seen this and have comments about it? What about the other three movies...anyone seen those? Of the three, which is the better version of the story, do you think?

I thought "Last Man Standing" (with Bruce Willis) was better than "Fistful of Dollars." If nothing else, it was, not surprisingly since it was made in the 90's instead of the 60's, more realistic. Also, the dubbing in "Fistful of Dollars" was a little annoying. "Fistful," however, was much more iconic (I thought) than "Last Man Standing," and the cinematography was excellent.

I love A Fistful of Dollars and The Good, The Bad and the Ugly. I didn't care for "For a Few Dollars More" when I saw it. However, that was a really long time ago. I've been meaning to give it another shot.

A Fistful of Dollars is a remake of "Yojimbo." "Last Man STanding" is a remake of "A Fistful of Dollars."

Huh? You mean other 2 movies? The remake and remade film?

I think you're one of the few people on the entire planet that holds that position.

Yojimbo is a classic film, period. A Fistful of Dollars is a classic western. ....Last Man Standing is a Bruce Willis movie and not one of the bettern known ones....

Oh, I'm not saying I disliked "Fistful"...and I'm aware it's considered a classic western. I'm just saying I preferred "Last Man Standing" to "Fistful."

I haven't seen "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly" or "Yojimbo" yet...I know Blockbuster has the latter, so I'll have to rent that soon, but I don't know if they have the former.
