Yeah, our cake lady said she never leaves a box to take left over grooms cake home because there is never any left unless you get a huge one...but even still there wouldn't be a lot left. She said there is usually a little brides cake left, but not a bunch.

my grandmother made our wedding cake. We didn't have a groom's cake. My family just finished eating leftover cake a few weeks ago.

yeah. pretty well anything goes. (We were talking about having cupcakes at one point, too)

After you've done all of that, you can put it in some kind of Tupperware. She said that is the best way to do it. Of course, it's not going to taste AS good as it did on your wedding day, but it won't taste like cardboard.
I have heard that if you freeze it, then vacume seal it that it should last (and taste) good on your one year.

I'm sure that would work too! Never thought of that. My parents have a vacuum sealer thing...I might look into that.

My mom used to make cakes to help support our family. Her wedding cakes were absolutely beuatiful. I just wanted to say, Becky, I don't remember anyone ever asking her to make a groom's cake; I wouldn't worry about it!
