As Christmas is well let's just say standing right next to us,we tend to get excited.

Duh!! What is the first thing that comes to your mind when you here the word Christmas? Jesus,Angels,Stables, etc.? Well some of us can say we do. As for most of us honestly we usually think about those gifts that we'll get on Christmas morning. In Isaiah 9:6, "For unto us a Child is born,Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon his shoulder. And his name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,Everlasting Father, Prince or Peace." The Israelites were very excited for Christ's Coming. When you were born you did not have to wait for Chirst's Coming into the world to live amoung you. It had already happen. Well when you look around you don't seem to seee the same excitement the people of the Old Testament had for the coming of our Lord. (Yes even in a Christian communinty we see the fading of ecstatic Crhristmastime Christians) It's mostly about ME,ME,ME, on Christmas day! Am I going to get that Gibson Les Paul for Chirstmas? Well think this way. Hey guess what you get for Christmas? You mean you already know?! You bet you know! We get Jesus not only on Christmas Day, we get Him every second, minute, day and week of every year! Guess what else you get? You have breath. And well you may have the Flu, Bronchitis of some other illness or disease, but are you living? Go ahead you sarcastic people, say what you have to. Well, barely!

Are you living? Yeah, you are. Psalm 150:6 says,"Let everything that has breath praise the Lord." Guess what else you get for Christmas? Yes you get even more! You have the gift of eternal life as soon as you give you heart, your soul, your life, and all to God. "And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wife or children or lands for My names sake, shall receive a hundredfold, and inherit eternal life." Matthew 19:29[NKJV]Jesus came to earth for you, His chosen people. He humbled himself to a lowly human and died a criminal's death on the Cross, lifting His entire body to breath and then giving His spirit to God, then dying so that you could have eternal life! You have the greatest gift that no one else but God could give you, Jesus and eternal life! I would encourage all of you to read a passage of Jesus' birth before you open presents. If you read this whole thing, could you please tell me if you enjoyed it? I would love to keep writing devotionals.
Merry CHRISTmas with much love, GE
