| Merry Christmas to the Apologetics Forum! As one of your friendly neighborhood Moderators, I'd just like to say... MERRY CHRISTMAS to the CGR Apologetics forum!
----------------------------------------------------------- The Lord be with you! And with your spirit Lift up your hearts We lift them up to the Lord Let us give thanks to the Lord our God It is meet and right to do so. It is truly meet, right and salutary, that we should at all times, and in all places, give thanks unto Thee, O Lord, Holy Father, Almighty Everlasting God. For in the mystery of the Word made flesh, Thou hast given us a new revelation of Thy glory: that seeing Thee in the person of Thy Son, we may be drawn to the love of those things which are not seen. Therefore with Angels, Archangels, and all the company of Thy saints, we sing the hymn of Thy everlasting glory: Holy, Holy, Holy Lord, God of power and might! Heaven and Earth are full of your glory! Hosanna in the Highest! Blessed is He who comes in the Name of the Lord! Hosanna in the Highest! Let us pray That we who celebrate the mystery of Christ's Holy Incarnation may have our hearts fashioned into the likeness of that manger in Bethlehem, that Christ may be reborn in us therein, that we may worthily contemplate this selfsame Holy Mystery, let us pray to the Lord That we who celebrate this mystery may be further enthralled with the majesty of our Lord Jesus Christ, who humbled Himself to become like us in all things except sin. May we share in His inheritance forever, let us pray to the Lord. That in the celebration of this mystery, we who seek to defend the faith of Christ may be brought to a clearer understanding of His character, His will, and the perfect union between His humanity and His Divinity.
Almighty God, we entreat You with humble hearts, despise not our petitions, but hear the prayers of Your servants, who You redeemed with the Blood of your Incarnate Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. Liven our tongues and make clear the workings of our minds through the inspiration of Your Holy Spirit, that we who seek to defend the faith that You once delivered to Your saints may all the better perform the task to which You have called us. These things we ask, Holy Father, through Christ, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen. |
