| When filling a pipe leave it down from the top a little. You will find it lights easier that way. I often use a golf tee to tamp my pipe with but mostly the tip of my little finger. I now have a callous on it. My finger that is. I would suggest that you buy only an ounce at a time till you find what you like. The light in color ones usually have less bite.

| Eh--my grandfather was a Baptist minister for 40+ years and he smoked three packs a day. It's only young Baptists who have to feel guilty about it. |

Those in the south tend to smoke but wouldn't drink , the northerners tend to drink but not smoke.

| I have used tobacco in pretty much all it's forms at one time in my life. I enjoyed chewing tobacco very much but my wife refused to kiss me anymore so I quit. I enjoy my pipe more than all other forms though. My favorite time is when I am studying.

I personally don't like chew or snuff. |

Seriously though, I have never seen anyone come close to supporting the wrongness of smoking Biblically. Perhaps it is simply that I have not seen it, but I have seen convincing evidence from the Scriptures the other way. I would love to discuss the issue with you some time. The proper environment here on CGR would probably be the Theology forum, which will soon be reopened. (I would also like to note really quick that I am current a non-smoker, in case you were curious.)

| So, do cloves and pipe tobacco leave that nasty tobacco after-taste in your mouth? Or do thier flavorings create a different "taste" to the smoke? |
