So, Mr. Akers has been craving to try a cigar for the first time ever, and knows he could definately ask you folks here for some advice on brand and maybe just, DO NOTS....

Be sure to tell your tobacconist that you're a begginer to smoking, and ask them what they think would be a good cigar to start off with. You probably won't be able to get your hand on a cuban, but if by some chance you can, you might want to try a Hoyo de Monterrey. Light bodied, nice flavour. Has a creamy sort of flavour towards the end.

DO NOT light your cigar with a lighter (other than a butane lighter).

I only light my smokage with matches. Even a butane lighter can make a cigar (or pipe) taste bad.

Last night, I tried some kind of Newcastle stout from the tap. It was much better than my previous experience with Newcastle from a bottle.

Newcastle on tap would be lovely. I haven't seen any place around here that serves this delicious beverage.

I remember someone suggesting the Breckenridge Avalanche Amber Ale. I just tried it tonight, and I must say I like it. Furthermore, it is 30 cents cheaper than a 6 pack of Fat Tire.

My fiancé's sister just got back from Ecuador, and was kind enough to bring me a couple Cuban cigars. I'm not sure where to smoke it because the bars around town don't take kindly to cigar smoke.

Anyone ever tried Duck-Rabbit beers? I'm drinking a porter right now that is pretty tasty.

Cigars are fun to smoke almost anywhere.

Smoking is definitely unhealthy, everyone here understands that. No one here has once condoned drug use or illegal/underage smoking or drinking, or drinking to excess.

The devil also uses legalism to draw people away with. I would beware, lest you fall into that trap. To the pure, all things are pure.

The other day, I was smoking my last Portofino while climbing up this mountain not far from my house. Several people, dressed head to toe in spandex, ran past me along the trail. You should have seen the look on their faces to see me casually walking, puffing on my cigar. They were appalled. I chuckled.

Smoking is bad... if by "bad" you mean "unhealthy".
So long as you're 18 (or however old you have to be to smoke legally where ever you're from) then there's nothing wrong with smoking.
However, this is not the proper form in which to discuss such things. If you'd like to start a thread in the theology forum giving examples in the bible where God commands us not to smoke, then I'd be more than happy to discuss that with you there.

As for drugs... no one in this thread has said anything about drugs.

And lastly... another thing Satan uses to draw people away from God is the "holier than thou" attitude... which turns people away from Christ much easier/faster than just about anything else.

Now that that's out of the way...

I had an amazing ale tonight.
I know I've mentioned it before... but I hate ales. However, I now have another ale to add to my short list of "likes". This one is called Samuel Smith's Nut Brown Ale. It's awesome. I don't really know how to discribe it... but it was really good.
