I see the guys smoke cigar butts in pipes all the time up at my Thursday evening hangout at my tobacconist. They crumble the butt just like you would rub out a flake of pipe tobacco. It kind of smells bad because of the heavy quantity of tar that is in the butt. I don't know how you'd get the smell of your hands.
| Oh cool! Thanks for that info. I had this thought of cutting it up into small slices and whatnot. I don't know if I'd smoke just the butt though. Quote:
I am not a cigar smoker. Pipes only with some nasal snuff.
Regards, Bill
| Now that's one thing I don't hear much about, nasal snuff. I don't think I'd quite enjoy it. |

| I had beer!! I went to the Ashville Pizza and Brewery Company on my birthday. I got some house brew with a chocolate flavor that my fiancee thought I should try. It tasted pretty bad at first, but then I got used to it a little. My friend got a house brew Scottish Ale. It was a little better. Then I went back and got a Heineken and I actually liked it.
As far as my favorite blends go,
1. A Blend by an old man named bob at my local tobacconist called "Bob's Wacky Baccy" Its mostly virginia black, with a lot of vanilla flavor.
2. Another local blend called "Mild English" its kind of an americanized english blend... I like it a lot, the natural sweetness is as good as if not better than the flavored sweetness of american blends
3. Anything with vanilla in it... honestly, most of what i've smoked as of late has been from a big bag of vanilla that I bought from Eckerd or Walgreens or something... Quote: |

| Thanks for the info. I'll reconsider doing that then. |

| I no longer have any bowls, pinchies, water pipes. I had a really nice glass bowl. It was amazing.

#758 | | MARRIED!!! | So I took a while to open the Penzance. It says it's an English Mottled Flake, but when I open it up it appears to be in little card like shapes. How do I smoke it?
Thanks in advance. |

Thanks in advance. | Glad you got your order have had a chance to enjoy. Penzance is probably the easiest crumbling flake that I've ever come across. What I have found works well with a smaller bowl pipe is to take a single flake, roll it up from a short end, and stuff it into the pipe like a short stubby log.
If you have a larger bowl pipe take 1.5 or 2 flakes, rub them out (won't take much effort), and stuff the pipe.

A friend recently gave me two ounces of Royal Estate Espresso from The Tinderbox in New Orleans. It's a cavendish blended with espresso, and not as rich as I expected, but satisfying in its own way. It smokes really well, but leaves you smelling like ass.

The reason I asked about the cigar was because my order hadn't arrived yet, and I like cigars. Maybe I'll get a corncob and try it. Quote: |

Regards, Bill | Oh ok, I've heard about rubbing out a flake. Is that what you literally do, just rub it between your fingers? |

Some flakes like Penzance and St. Bruno crumble down practically by looking at them. Others like some of the heavy Scotish flakes are like leather or jerky and almost require a cheese shredder.
Rubbing out flakes is an inexact science and a precise art.
Enjoy the heavy latakia blends!

Awful. | Actually... next time that happens... if she'll lightly pinch the butt of the cigarette and gently roll the extra tobacco out of the filter area... then bend the edges of the broken cigarette towards the middle of the cigarette she can slide the broken end back into the filter area. Just make sure she's careful when knocking the ashes off.
Or she can do like I would do... smoke it without the filter.
