| I had another Red Stripe today and I enjoyed it a lot more, it was really good. I'm going to want to drink them everyday.

| I had a Miller Genuine Draft today, I really enjoyed it. It was smoother than the Red Stripe.
Question, are most American beers that light? I think it was 4.7%. Just wondering because it is a common Canadian prejudice to make fun of American beer and how light they are.

| I could not like Hendrick's gin more. I like it in a chilled, very dry martini. I like it in a gin and tonic with a cucumber garnish. I even like it neat.

| Had a Heineken today, I loved it! I really liked it a lot.
I almost bought a pack of some other German imported beer, I think i've seen the name mentioned here lately. I'll probably get it next time.

| I had a Boddington's on Sunday. It was different. Very creamy. Beautiful head. I enjoyed it.
I also have some Dogfishhead 90 Minute in my fridge. I had one last week. Incredible stuff. |

The only good American beers I see leaving the U.S. would probably be Sam Adams? That's about it.
Btw, the most evil beer I've ever had was from Stone Brewery. It's called the Arrogant Bastard. It's... just wrong... It's probably rougher than 10 grit sandpaper. It will drag you thru the mud. I can only drink it if I'm in a VERY bad mood. It will put hair on your testicles, and if you're a woman, you'll grow them and then grow hair on them... |

| I went to the local cigar shop today looking for a pipe and pipe tobacco.
I bought the cheapest pipe they had, it's like a Frosty The Snowman pipe, it's made from a corn cob. Then I bought some real tobacco, not some packaged stuff from the corner store, real stuff (dangit, I forget the name already). It was $15 for 25 grams. I attempted to smoke a bowl, but evidently, I have a lot to learn. I looked up directions on how to correctly pack a pipe, i'll give it another go soon.

I know the pros usually speak out against the use of your thumb, but does it actually make much a difference? Especially for a beginner?

As said before, it'll take a few times to season the pipe.
Remember when you're packing to put the tobacco in in phases. First put some in gently like a child, then the next bit put in and pack like a woman, then pack the rest like a man. Burn the top once, then pack it lightly and spread the ash even. Then proceed to smoke.
I recommend using a match for lighting. It doesn't taste like lighter fluid and is a little easier to light with once you get the hang of it. |
