Yeah...that's total ☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺. Clove cigarettes make up less than 1% of cigarette sales in the U.S.A. Why is menthol not considered flavoring? It's total ☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺ and won't do a thing to curb underage smoking.

Did I mention that I think it is total ☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺?

lulz.

I agree. I have more friends that got into smoking (under aged) through menthols than cloves.

In response to a UC, no, cloves are not the same as Prime Times, except that they fall under the broader category of flavored tobacco products.

Still are. I have loads of cousins who make moon. My great uncle and great grandfather were runners. They did the dual gastank thing and were first class runners. My wife's family is a well known ally of one branch of my family in the backwoods of NC in moonshine. Whats funny, is I knew her family stories and she didnt.

Yeah. At one point in the Appalachian area it was practically de rigueur.

Hmm, are they more like a regular cigarette than a Prime Time? Prime Time's still seem to have that cigar taste to them, just milder.

Cloves are cigarettes with cloves added to the tobacco. Honestly...they are a bit more harsh than regular cigarettes...especially the Sampoernas. Djarum have a variety of clove cigarettes that vary in their harshness.

Both of those brands are Indonesian.

Why doesn't the government ban those fruity fake beer drinks as well? They are nothing more than alcohol-infused Kool-Aid. It would seem the powers-that-be would be concerned about contributing to underage drinking as well.

Probably because alcohol isn't bad for you like cigarettes.... Wait...

I agree.. the ban is totally ridiculous. I know way more people who got hooked on menthols than any other type of cigarettes. Has anyone tried the clove cigars Djarum is supposed to be putting out to replace them? My back of Blacks is running very low (I've had it for 5 months..), so I need to figure out what I'm gonna do to replace them..

See, menthols didn't get included because they're predominantly produced in the US by phillip morris and RJ Reynolds- whereas most other flavors are produced overseas (as you noted with Djarum & Samporenas).

Of course, it has nothing to do with big tobacco giving millions of dollars to the DNC and other interest groups to push this legislation through, heck no. It's about protecting children from the things that get them addicted in the first place.

Because everyone knows, it's not menthols! Oh wait, kids are significantly more likely to start with menthols than ANY other tobacco product. Oh, but those are made in the US and they're a huge portion of annual tobacco sales.

As long as we're saving the children, let's not forget that smokers of menthols tend to be less affluent african americans, whereas white menthol smokers (of all ages) make up a smaller percentage. ^eleventy

I don't necessarily disagree with you, but do you have any sources for that? The part about people starting on menthols seems a little dubious to me...I'm probably wrong, but I'd like to see your sources.
