Oh... and though I've been away for a very long time, my exciting adventures in exploring alcohol haven't. I've been enjoying a lot of dry red wines lately and once I begin to better grasp what I'm having, I'll let you all in on it. I'm really happy with the fact that wine seems so... relaxing. Not that beer doesn't... but I think my palate does like it better after a day of work. |

| And now for something completely different.
I turned 18 six months ago now, but I just recently started smoking cigars. It is awesome. I have one about once a week, sometimes less often. I haven't gone pricewise much over 10 bucks for a cigar. But one day I will splurge and get a really good one.
I bought a corn cob pipe yesterday and some tabacco. Captain Black Royal. It is most excellent. I'm still learning how to keep the pipe going. It is glorious though.
I just thought I would share that. I don't really have any questions. |

Yeah, Im paranoid about buying beer in a grocery store also. Wierd, right?
Anyways.
I tried Sam Adams Summer Ale, and Honey Porter on (Summer ale on friday right after work, and honey porter yesterday.... right after work.).
Both were pretty good.
The honey porter was especially nice to drink. The overall flavor of it makes me thing that if I had had it with a honey glazed ham, or with a brisquet with some kind of honey based bbq sauce, that it would have totally pwned.

| Yeah... my grocery store does have the crap, but it also carries the good stuff.
However, I am only going to liquor and wine stores this summer, as I'm living in New Jersey - which has extremely strict alcohol sales laws. |

The grocery stores I have seen in houston have a large selection of bad brews and only 1 pack or so of the good stuff.
Tis why I make the long drive to specs when there is a fiesta only 1 block from my house.
Seriously, at Fiesta and HEB, like, 80% of the beer section is for Budweiser, Miller, and Busch. And of the 20% left, 15% of that is for Corona, Heineken, and and one other brew I cant remember the name of. The remaining 5% is not enough to get me to shop at those stores.
And most other grocery stores I have seen are just as bad.

| I shop at a grocery store most of the time because the grocery store next to my apartment is the only place I've found Sam Adams' Honey Porter.

The fiesta near my house has an attached liquor store, but the one time I went in, they only had 1 pack of SA Boston Lager (that was my first trip to buy beer, btw).
Oh wells, in a few minutes I shall be off to go drink a Sam Adams Summer Ale and eat some lunch.
