Tourists saw it and assumed that it was the thing to do and now...well...you drink Corona with lime.
Can't prove the story...but it sounds feasible to me.
You know...I waited all this time to finally try Corona and daggum it...I actually like the stuff. Go figure. | I put lime in everything Mexican... even if I'm having a Dr Pepper at a Mexican restaurant. Quote:

It's the result of some Germans who actually ruled in Mexico for several years in the 19th century. Nothing to write home about, but not the standard Mexican swill.
I'm such a wuss... Corona gives me a headache. |

And where is a homebrewing store at in houston? Any places close to i45 and the NorthLoop? Im willing to drive a ways off to get stuff, but I would really prefer a place close to my house.
I probably wont do any brewing until I get my own place, which might be a while, but it'd be cool to know where to find materials. | I'm actually really new to Houston. Just moved here in May from Austin (and I miss it! ), and I haven't made a trip to a local homebrew place yet, but I'm feelin' the itch mighty strong. There are a few places here, though. It looks like the closest one to you is the Brew Stop. There are only two reviews of it on beeradvocate.com, and only one of them is favorable. There's another place, slightly further from you (but not much) called Brew It Yourself, up in Spring, and the reviews on Beeradvocate are good, so that's where I'm going.

Peace, my brother!

I went to a place new in my area called Baker Street Pub and Grill yesterday. Apparently its a corporate chain, and is big in texas. I was surprised to find that out after going in, its a sherlock holmes themed pub and isnt cheesy or gimmicky like you would think. The front room has huge overstuffed chairs where you can chill out and drink. The back room is the fireplace room full of dark wood and bookshelves and really cool signs and period 'things'. Their draft selection is large (anyone who has boddingtons on draft is OK with me!), and they serve traditional british fare like bangers and mash and shepherds pie. I was quite impressed, especially for a chain, it may be my new haunt for a while... http://www.sherlockspubco.com/Home.aspx
I had their Baker Street Brown, which was really tommyknocker maple nut brown ale, for $2.50/pint I could not go wrong...

I just made a homebrewing thread in the Food/Cooking forum. it would be cool if there were more brewers on here. I just told my wife my plans this morning and she was excited. In fact, she had been thinking about getting equipment to make wine! I am excited! http://www.christianguitar.org/forum...d.php?t=153080

I think I should get to go this year though...

I really hope I get to go to NZ this year!
