Dude, that is awesome.

What does the word Bock mean?

Hey, I went to fiesta today, and was about to pick up some RedStripe, but then the checkout lady said that they dont sell beer before 12, and it was just a little before 12. So she took the beer away. Then I went back at 12:30 and they hadnt put it back on the shelf yet, so I picked up some Guiness ExtraStout.

Talk about a kick in the face. The first sip left a very smoky aftertaste in my mouth, it was really intense, it kind of made me sit back and go "Whoa".

But, next week, Im gonna get the Red Stripe if they have it.

I wanted to buy both since I have budgeted about 20 bucks towards recreation, and I thought beer would be good to fill that roll, but then I decided to save it till next saturday, then after work I can go straight to the store to see if they have it, or some Sam Adams.

Awesome.

Actually, I believe it refers to a male sheep... at least originally.

There's also the word dopplebock, which appropriately means doubly-awesome.

Not all ales are bitter... just hoppy ones. Try a roasty porter (Fuller's London), an old ale (Olde Suffolk), or a hefeweizen (Paulaner or Franziskaner). And you must have Belgian ales. They're simply the best.

What Belgians would I recommend? None until you become less of a little girl in your beer-tasting. =) But once you've had something other stuff, pick up Schneider Aventinus or St Bernardus Abt 12... Then I'll give you some more Belgians to try.

You are on the verge of being reported as a troll. This thread is not for the debate about tobacco...it's for those who legally choose to participate in the use of it.

Stop with the flame-baiting.

True, but promoting things like swimming or hiking is just promoting skin cancer and parasitic infestation in different flavors, as it were.

Almost everything humans do for recreation is dangerous in some way or another.

On the other hand, I don't know so much about the effects of moderate tobacco use but moderate consumption of alcohol has been repeatedly shown to be healthy.

I don't know that you necessarily SHOULD drink wine...but it sure doesn't hurt you in moderation.

I prefer a beer...but that's just me.

I don't think any health professional specifically recommends that you begin an alcohol regimen, but a similarly small number will recommend you stop moderate alcohol consumption unless there is a particular risk which alcohol exacerbates.

When you look at tobacco, you have to keep in mind that many people smoke multiple packs of cigarettes every day. There's quite a difference between that and someone who smokes a pipe or cigar a few times a week. I imagine there is a corresponding difference in risk for lung cancer.

That is so true. It's always a process. I can see why cigarettes and the actual cigars are different. Drinks have a different affect depending on how strong they may be, if your overindulge etc. That can also lead to certain health issues. Like if a cigarette is laced of course there is nt going to be a great outcome. As I stated some of the drink and sort have specific nutrients that your body can use and store for later use and it helps you with your energy source etc. My dad just prefers the Merlot from Cali because of the fresh taste.

A lot of alcohol is empty calories. Wine still packs a hundred or more calories for every four ounces. The reason wine is viewed as "good" is because of the bacteria and natural ingredients, which are good for your heart, help defend against cholesterol and calm down your stomach.
