| Quick Stats question I'm doing a p-test. What do I do if my z-value is more than 3? it's 3.41 to be exact.
here's the whole problem:
A new laboratory technician read a report that the average number of students using the computer laboratory per hour was 16. To test this hypothesis, he selected a day at random and kept track of the number of students who used the lab over an eight-hour period. the results were as follows: 20, 24, 18, 16, 16, 19, 21, 23. at (alpha)=.05, test the claim that the average is actually 16. Use the p-value method.
xbar=19.625
n=8
alpha=.05
and after doing the whole SD thing,
s=3.01
When I compute my z value, I get 3.41, and that is not on my chart. What do I do? What am I doing wrong?
