Yep. Gotta vote for French. Not that I'm biased or anything...

Middle English gets my first vote. Particularly the spoken narratives of Chaucer.
I would call the gaelic of National Eire a very close second along with that of Scotland.
Modern German and English tie for third in my world.

French is very romantic . . . even reading instructions for the installation of a garbage disposal can sound seductive . . . but "romance" alone does not beauty make. French is half spoken with the eyes: watching it being spoken is much more fascinating than hearing it on the radio.

The portugese of northern Brasil is very beautiful, too. Muito bem!

I'd have to say Irish, myself. After that, probably French and Italian.

Pennsylvannisch Deitsch. Oh yes, Pennsylvania Dutch. It is spoken by many Amish, and I speak a bit of it myself, but I speak High German more. It is most commonly referred to as a mixture of German and English. More and more English words are being used in place of Deitsch words. It is really just a variant of the Franconian dialect in Germany. However, there is no set spelling to Deitsch. To demonstrate, here are two separate spelling modes, they are both the Lord's Prayer.

Mode 1:

Amen.

I personally prefer Mode 2, as it is the type used by the Amish around where I live, and it is closer to modern Standard German than Mode 1, and easier for me to read.

I speak English, but I think it is a horrible language.
I think the most beautiful are Gaelic and Japanese.

It all depends on where you live. In Florida Spanish is the language of the sewage. I like French and English. German and Italian only sound good when your angry. English is the most flexiable language known to man. I know some German, French, Hebrew, and Italian. My heritage is Austrian, my room mate is Italian, and my grandfather on my moms side is French.

Gaelic is beautiful. Spanish is beautiful (I think it's because of the overwhelming emphasis on vowels).

German is my favorite though... High German, that is; none of that silly Deitsch stuff.

I like Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, and French. Basically all of the major romance languages.

I also really like Irish Gaelic, especially when spoken/sung by Irish women.

And Russian sounds kool.

If I had to pick one single favorite, it would be Spanish. Not that I'm biased as a Spanish-major or anything.

Anything but English. Worst. Language. Ever. Conceived. It's asymmetrical, doesn't follow its own rules, doesn't construct its sentences uniformly, and there's no relationship between how a word is written and how it's pronounced. It's a language whose grammatic structure was set out by people who were illiterate. I wish I had two more hands. That way I could give that language four thumbs down.

To speak, I prefer French, but there's something about listening to opera music in Italian that makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. I like Spanish too. Which is what makes listening to Argentine Spanish funny - they speak Spanish with an almost Italian accent. I like German too. Especially for throwing out lines from Full Metal Jacket. I started to study Mandarin and Pashto as well, but that was really beginning to stretch my brain's ability to cope.

Hi! For me:
1st: Portuguese, it's my language and I love it!
2nd: Italian, it's a BEAUTIFUL language, and Italy it's a BEAUTIFUL country, too!
3rd: English, I like it, specially British English.
4th: German, I like it too!
I don't like to much: French, Chinese, Spanish... at least spoke by man! When it is a woman speaking, it's way better (at least in Spanish, and maybe in French, too)! eheh
I know how to speak: Portuguese (of course), English (more and less), French (just a little bit) and Spanish (I don't know very well, but I understand because it's near to Portuguese)! K&H

Arabic is truly a special language. The logic behind it is incredibly well-structured, unlike say English. I've been learning it for three years now and I'm still constantly thrilled by its beauty. The Arabic script also looks great and isn't too hard to learn.

for me its Argentinian Spanish, or "castellano argentino." It has a singing quality to it, that isnt found in other spanish accents. Its really Spanish with an Italian accent.
