Do any of you guys do this?? For some reason I don't know a lot of people that do, and I get two reactions: people either think I'm amazingly cool or flaming gay.
I play the keys and lead worship at church and i'm amazingly cool

I too sing whilst playing the piano.
Another guy who is amazing at performing this feat is Jon Mclaughlin (www.jonmclaughlingmusic.com). He is incredible.

I DO!

I am guy and I sing and play the keyboard at the same time. I am the worship leader for our youth worship team so I do it quite frequently at church and I play and sing all the time at home.

Yes, guitar does take up much of the music of today. But the fact of the matter is that the songs you remember off of an album are the strong piano songs(ie. I Can Only Imagine, Offering by Third Day, Word of God Speak). And nearly all rock bands have a keyboardist with them, esspecially a good ol' B3 player somewhere. I've started using the organ I have a lot more, it just goes with some of the heavier rock music.

As far as singing and playing, I use to be so into the music that I didn't but then our lead singer in our church band quit to play school basketball(such great priorities) and so I was just stuck singing. I'd really rather not, cause I just don't get to pull of the great rhythm parts I use to cause I'm so concentrated on not messing up the words. And I have yet to be called gay.

How about Chris Martin from Coldplay? He plays piano and sings. And Coldplay is one of the coolest bands there is. End of this "gay" crap.

I'm a girl, and not that great at piano, but I think it's totally awesome when a guy can play piano and sing. I don't see any musical talent, of anny kind, in anyone, to be "flaming gay". So, keep it up

I AM A PIANIST/SINGER!!!!!

I play keys and sing at the same time alot... also, Parachute band's Wayne Huiroa plays keys and sings in some of thier music as well, I have also seen other guys sing and play piano.. its not all that uncommon.... there are people at hillsongs church that do it, and they set the standards for alot of worship music.

I play piano and sing but I'm not a guy. I think it's cool when a guy sings and plays the piano.

I lead and play keyboard. Its awesome. I think its a good skill to be able to play an instrument and sing at the same time, work at it. If someone calls you gay...tell them they are.

from a guy's perspective, i've gotten reactions from guys that i could do without, and some from girls that i dont mind. it seems that a lot of guys think that piano/keys isn't really a "guy" thing to do, but from what i've experienced with concerts/gigs, a lot of girls seem to like it.

The keyboardist of our band is a guy. He sings and plays piano. All the guys think he is gay (except for the other band members of course). All the girls think he is the pinnacle of awsomeness.

Heh. I like to think that I can sing, and I do it all the time while I'm on the piano at home. I think that God wants me up there to sing too, but I'm too nervous to even think about mentioning that to them.

I'm not a guy, but I do sing while playing the piano...

I write songs, however, so there's a need for me to sing at the same time, so that I can be sure to have the correct accompinament, while i sing, but sometimes i'll just play along with the songs, and not sing...

it all depends on really what mood I'm in..

My friend Jim, has an amazing voice, and he sings while he plays the piano.. it's amazing, i find it amazing! Such talent!

Guess what I did Sunday?
Sing and play the piano.
It was kinda hard, because the piano is so much more different than the actual tune. The song was Silent Night/Away in the Manger + I Celebrate the Day by Relient K.
