Platinum-selling rock band, Third Day, received a Grammy nomination for its seventh studio recording, Wire. The band picks up the nod in the Best Rock/Contemporary Gospel Album category. Third Day has been nominated for six Grammy awards, with a 2003 win for Come Together.
"We're thrilled to have received this nomination and we're honored to have Wire recognized by our peers as one of the outstanding albums of the year," comments bass player Tai Anderson. "It's as exciting as it is humbling," he adds.
The 47th Annual GRAMMY Awards will originate from the STAPLES Center in Los Angeles, and the show will be broadcast live on the CBS Television Network on Feb. 13, 2005, at 8 p.m. (ET/PT).
Third Day recently celebrated a second consecutive American Music Award nomination in early November, followed by the launch of Live Wire, a special two-disc live DVD/CD set, on Nov. 23. The Atlanta based band will be featured in a 60 Minutes segment that airs Dec. 8 at 8:00 PM. (ET/PT).
Third Day's latest studio album, Wire, debuted at No.1 on Nielsen SoundScan's Top Christian Albums chart and No. 12 on Billboard's Top 200 Albums chart in its first week. The band has amassed more than four million units in career sales. Currently the band is playing across America on the "Live Wire" Tour which is sponsored by Chevrolet.
