Passion '05, the four-day collegiate gathering that is taking over downtown Nashville January 2-5 has already seen more than 9,000 registrants representing 46 states and 8 other countries around the world, including Botswana, Brazil, Canada, Japan, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Vanuatu and Wallis and Futuna Islands. Visit
www.268generation.com to pre-register until December 26. Onsite registration at Passion '05 continues January 2.
Several artist-worshippers and speakers will help lead this collegiate gathering to a deeper understanding of the 268 Declaration, calling students everywhere to discover what it really means to live for the Glory of God on their campuses and throughout the world. These artist-worshippers include sixstepsrecords' Chris Tomlin, Matt Redman, David Crowder Band and Charlie Hall, Inpop Records' Shane and Shane, Teleprompt Records' Mute Math and Fervent Records' Big Daddy Weave, as well as world-renowned speakers Louie Giglio, John Piper, Beth Moore, Joshua Harris and Heather Mercer.
In addition to the gatherings, Passion '05 will feature a Mobilization area for missions. Located in the Gaylord Entertainment Center, this area will include 50-60 mobilization organizations and 120-180 Guides. These Guides will be trained and knowledgeable about all of the missions organizations represented in order to better place students with the opportunities in which they are the most interested. They will lead the students through a unified and easy-to-navigate presentation of opportunities available to them here and around the world.
Also providing a venue for mobilization organizations to learn about each other, develop ways to share information and resources and to foster partnerships, each organization will volunteer two staff members to serve as Mobilization Guides.
Further, a separate section in the Mobilization area will highlight the amazing things that God is doing throughout the world, focusing mainly on Boston, MA and New York City, NY. These cities are strategic since Boston has over a 250,000 and New York has over 500,000 college students. These cities also host many international students from countries that do not have the religious freedoms found in America.
The unique purpose of Passion is to gather college students from campuses and churches across the nation, uniting them across ministry and denominational lines to seek the face of God together in worship and prayer. Affirming and valuing the work of local churches and campus ministries, Passion seeks to foster unity and connectivity among them, encouraging them to draw strength and encouragement from each other, resulting in a louder anthem of God's renown.
