Boiling strings (I'm quite sure) will not help with broken strings...

unless your post didn't make sense on accident...you can boil strings til your blue in the face....but when you done all you'd have is a blue face...broken strins do not get fixed by boiling it just doesn't work...lol

Yeah, DRs are the best strings I've played. I just need to get some free time to swing by a guitar shop to buy them.

I have DRs on my cort curbow 6er. They're ok. Just too dang midrangey. I guess some people like that... I prefer the dead sound.

I'm probably going back to flatwounds soon. Maybe try some halfwounds...

I've seen TFK Live at Kingdom Bound...but they seemed a little weak in comparison to Skillet...

or maybe thats because I was a little farther back...

DRs midrangy? Are you crazy? Those things are almost as mid-scooped sounding as Elixers, just not as twangy. I love them.

Bringing this nice thread back...

I've been so busy lately that I forgot about changing strings... So I ordered some Fodera Diamond Stainless for the 6er. I'm excited... I think it's my first set ever of stainless (as opposed to nickel) and everything I've read about both Fodera strings and Stainless make me think I'm gonna love them. Definately not cheap at 35 bucks a set though.

I just bought some Ernie ball Hybrid Slinkys and put them on my bass today. Man they sound so good, I gotta get new strings more often.

Got the Foderas in today... AMAZING.

Tons of lows. Even more mids. Just enough highs. Also re-set up my bass today. It's playing like a dream.
