| Can anyone help me with Turabian? I don't know how many of you have had to write in Turabian, but for those of you who are familiar with the format I am in need of your assistance. I need to write an article review in the correct Turabian format, but the hand-out guide my professor gave me is slightly confusing. Is the evaluation suppose to be numbered, or is it suppose to be in paragraph form? I hope I am even asking the correct questions. Any assistance yuo might give will be most appreciated! Thank you very much for your time

| I guess not many other schools write in Turabian. Well then, what writting style and format does everyone use?

My own personal preference is the use of informal footnotes or simply being so obvious about what you're quoting in the text that there's no reason to cite it at all (like, "Plato says in Gorgias that...").

| From what I know about Turabian, it's baisically a formating style that is very percise and detailed. It's used mainly in writting dissertations, theses, term papers, ect. A lot of diffrent styles will have you cite in Turabian, but not write in turabian. Anyways, it's super picky about the format and I don't know if I wrote my last paper correctly according to the format. Anyways, yeah, I've used a very loose form of MLA my whole life, something along the lines of Bob's prefrences

| You should be able to find a style manual for Turabian in your school's library, Kate... especially since (IIRC) that's the only style that they allow you to use.

So really, "What is the air speed velocity of an unlaiden swallow?"
It's quite simple:
Drag on a body in a fluid is:
D = 1/2 (Cd*pi*r^2*rho*Vo^2) Cd = coefficient of drag of the swallow pi = 3.1415... r = radius of bird cross-section (approximating as a circle) rho = viscosity of air Vo = velocity For steady state flight, D (drag) = T (thrust), so:
------------------------------
| Vo = sqrt(T/Cd*pi*r^2*rho) |
------------------------------ |

| For a very valuable tool that will help set up your citations for you, check this out, it's run through the Calvin College library website. Turabian citation is the same as Chicago style, which consists of footnotes and a bibliography. Additional sources can be found here and here.
