"Heaven" - Is it Los Lonely Boys or Salvador? Or Both?

So, of course I've heard "Heaven" on the radio a billion times, and all of the radio stations attribute it to Los Lonely Boys. But then I was listening to the christian station and they stated that they were going to play a song by Salvador. Well the song begins and it sounds exactly like Los Lonely Boys. SO now I'm totally confused. Is Salvador the Los Lonely Boys, or did Salvador just copy their song? Or did some other band write the song and now they're both perfroming it? What's the deal?

Heya,

I've heard a really wierd version of "Heaven" on the local CCM station. It was messed up. It's like they edited the chorus out of the original and slapped some verses over it.. or visa-versa.

The original was done by Los Lonley Boys. I don't think Salvador has a version of it, personally. They might though.

I'm pretty sure it's a LLB original that Salvador covered for Christian radio. Interestingly enough, I've never heard either version.

LLB song. Salvador covered it, and instead of releasing one of their own perfectly fine original songs, their label released "Heaven" as the first single to make a quick hit and some big bucks.

I think that Salvador took the music recording of the original and put different vocals over it. It sounds EXACTLY like the original.

I find it funny that a Christian band would cover it for CCM... Lol there is really no Christian message to the song at all, except it has some references to God.

"How far is heaven?
(Oh, Lord, can you tell me?)
How far is heaven?
(I just gotta know how far it is)
How far is heaven?
(Oh, Lord, can you tell me?)"

I know this because I GOOGLED it. It's not that hard to research things these days.

It doesn't surprise me. It's just like that craze 10 years ago when everyone took popular brand name logos, manipulated them to fit some sort of marketable spirituality, and sold their ripoff pieces of crap memorabilia to millions of Christians everywhere. And they laughed all the way to the bank.

Sprite became "Spirit."
Coke became "Christ."
C.O.P.S. became "Christians Obediently Preaching Salvation."
S.W.A.T. became "Servants With a Testimony."

Why, why, why?!

i actually dont' find it strange at all...it happens all the time...not all CCM artists are limited to God songs.

Yes, Salvador did cover "Heaven" It's not a bad version, different and unoriginal, but not bad. At least its better then Selah's version of "You Raise Me Up" I don't any other way they could have killed that song. Selah deffeintly covered all areas on that one
