| Just a curiosity, will you call her Penny for short or always go by the full name?
I know a Penelope that always goes by Penny. |

I know a Penelope that always goes by Penny. | Right now we switch back and forth. We did choose Penelope knowing full and well it would be shortened to Penny in the future.

I'm not in any pain from any of them, so I'm not sure how I want to go about getting them filled, if at all. It seemed like they were minor at best and may only progress into something worse at a later point.

I've had this one tooth that has a "sticky spot" on the top as they call it. It's supposed to be the start of a cavity, I think; however, it's been like that for ten years so I've never had anything done to it. I just laugh when they tell me there is a spot there that I need to keep a check on since it's been there for so long.

Like you, I've been seeing these spots on my back teeth for years.

| I got my SBN Lil' Eagle today. I'm going to try it out at my band's show tonight. Yes, I'm seriously violating my "no new gear at a show" rule, but I've heard this is a great piece of gear, so I'm going to take a risk. Also I attached a picture of what my current board looks like. Sorry it's a little blurry.

| Hope you love it. Dunno if you also want to get this one, too, but the BDAB is pure magic. |

| Yeah, just a boost, but it's almost too tone-enhancing to turn off. It's sort of like crack. in the best way possible. |

I'm planning on selling my J&H sometime in the next couple weeks and hopefully using some of that money to buy the parts I need to TB my Crybaby and convert my DS-1 to Keeley specs. We will see how on track I can stay with that. With Penelope being around I just haven't had a lot of time to sit down and solder or even think about soldering.

| Quick thought for the morning:
There is a lot of fearmongering going on about foreign cultures coming into the United States and keeping their own customs and religions. Of course, these are concerns typically brought up by Christian "fundamentalists" with a strong sense of nationalism. I'm sure in previous eras concerns around other religions and cultures, but currently I don't know of any Christians (or other conservative groups) that want to halt any of the Eastern Asian cultures or Jews from coming to the United States.

I am white, but of a very traditional subset of a particular culture. I know I have kept a very distinct culture without intending to, which is out of lockstep with America. And that is okay by me. My ancestors are not the ones you hear about in the history books. They are not English or German, so sometimes it becomes glaringly obvious that my Appalachian Scot-Irish roots show in ways that conflict at least as much as many cultures. In some ways, a lot of fundamentalism is anglo-germanic which is amusing to me. Because it ends up being a very distinct racial makeup and culture that doesn't realize it. Because I am still white in color, most don't notice the difference, (except that I am shorter and wider built) but when they start talking of traditional values and such, it becomes apparent that my ancestors had slightly different values and that they are missing even my group here in the west. In NC, where I come from, fundamentalism has a different stripe and makeup, but with a lot of the same shared common ideology that their cultural distinctives are biblical. But in many ways, its just adding to the gospel.
However, I am seeing this more and more in liberal circles where fear of Islam is profound. Fear of middle easterners is so common, and while it is kosher around here to treat an Arab askance, try that with a black or a Mexican and you'll end up on the pavement or in an ambulance.
My fear is that the Western world is developing a hatred of Arabs not so different from the anti-semitism of Europe from the time of WWI. We are not to Nazi-like hatred yet, but I fear that I hear a lot of the same tone as you can read in books from the 20s and 30s.
Unfortunately, I see a lot of fundamentalism as having a lot of fascist ideology built in, and that worries me. |
